I knew that my package from @BarberDave was coming in the mail today, so I held off on my morning shave. I just finished shaving with my new to me, CBL Hombres Barber Shop soap. The Hombres brush whipped up a very creamy lather, even after the first use. No need to comment on the performance of the CBL premium soap. It’s excellent. The scent on Hombres is very unique to me. I have only been to the Southwest once and that was for some convention about 30 years ago, so I don’t think that really counts. If this is what it smells like in Tucson, sign me up. The aftershave tonic is also a fabulous product. Thank you @CBLindsay for creating top tier, unique products, and special thanks to @BarberDave for over the top generosity.

Scent notes:

TOP: blood orange, desert lime, cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro
MID: Gun powder, Gunsmoke, Russian leather, barber chair suede, Russian thistle, prickly pear, Jasmine sabac
BASE: Sun baked terra-cotta clay, Cedarwood, patchouli , Amber


It was meant to be a journey from morning to the end of the day in monsoon season in Tombstone in the late 1800’s. But does capture a walk through the desert in Arizona

Thanks, @Scuttlesoap! Kinda funny how things work. I’ve always preferred stainless steel razors. I bought this from Timeless when it first came out w/ the original handle. Recently, I bought the newer handle, and I can’t put it down. It’s the most comfortable razor I own. Stay tuned, will this become my new #1?? 😳🤔

Excellent lather from this soap. Rich, creamy and very slick...pleasant scent too!
A good razor and a good blade too. Very smooth and comfortable but perhaps not as efficient combo...hmmm. 3passes without issues for a dfs result. Aftershave was great...

RAZOR: Tedalus Essence (Mug), Gillette New Standard (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Super (Mug), Feather DE (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JR Boar #374
CREAM: Castle Forbes Lavender
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Thayers WH. Finished with Fine Lavender Pour Homme and Chatillon Lux Lavender Toner.

Preshave: PAA Holiday Cube
Soap: Strike Gold Shave Tallowscream (coriander, ginger, amber, patchouli, musk, pepper and bergamot. )
Brush: Yaqi 22mm badger
Post shave: PAA alum block, Stirling mentholated witch hazel, Tallowscream aftershave.
