I mentioned earlier in this thread that my daughter graduated high school this spring. In the spring she decided to attend college in Canada (great school that perfectly matched her academic interests). All summer we have been trying to make heads or tails of the immigration rules in COVID times and we finally have the clearance to go north.
In about 10 days, we will be driving to Quebec and she will take up 14 days of strict quarantine. After that, she will be moving into her dorm and taking classes online, but from college. I’m very said to let her go, but she needs to move on to the next challenge. At least she will be going to a place with its covid act together, and I feel that she will be in a safer place.

Same here, Sam. Sadly, I won’t be allowed to cross the border to take her to school. I can take her to the border and she can enter, but I’m not considered essential, so we have to hire a car to take her the rest of the way. Not what I had in mind.

We had a great incident that's been unfolding over the last few days. Someone had a 'private party' in Estonia, with 80 or so Finns in attendance. Two of them from Helsinki had COVID-19 and were showing symptoms.
Estonia is a few hour trip across the Baltic Sea from us, and there are numerous cruise ships running back and forth between Tallin and Helsinki every day.
The people in the party, came back spread over 17 different ships and a 3 day period.
You can't make this stuff up. Like I'd mentioned before the second the restrictions were lifted the city went into 'it never happened mode'.
