Words of wisd..... Yeah right.... We all know better than that!

Bummer about that aftershave. If the scent doesn't stick around, might as well use it up quick and then the bottle is a cool show piece.

That bottle looks clunky and hard to grasp, but you can try putting your thumb over the opening, then tipping it over, the pull your thumb back slightly to let a little out. This is the method I use for many aftershaves. No drips down the side of the bottle!

And the absolutely awesome flint knife that I received from Blademeister when I went up to help him on the cabin.

Shawn more than earned this knife with all his expertise and hard work, not to mention all the PIF stuff I've received from him over the last year. The blade is made from Flint Ridge Chalcedony from Ohio, the handle is cholla cactus with a pig intestine / pine pitch glue hafting. Shawn wanted to shave with it, but I discouraged that :p

Last 4 or 5 days we have been rebuilding an air compressor at work. I know many of you will be familiar with the ones that may be in your garage, but this one is a little different.

It only has a single piston and cylinder driven by a large crankshaft and connecting rod. The cylinder is surrounded by a water jacket to cool the piston and cylinder.

This is the water jacket and cylinder.

And the tiny little piston that is inside of that.

That's a tiny piston........yeah right! You work for a great business because they see the value in fixing equipment / having quality guys there that know how to fix stuff. So many businesses look at the bottom line and figure it's less costly to just toss broken equipment and save the overhead costs of having guys like you. I bet you are learning a ton with all the strange things you've had to fix, tweak, and upgrade.

Wow, a special case for my knife! Most get put on the mantle and forgotten about.

Absolutely getting it's own case. I'll make sure to post pics when it's done too.

Had a cap on a hydraulic block break and we didn't have any extras. So I took a piece of aluminum plate, cut a square out of it, then drilled two sizes of hole for a bore on the lathe, turned the outside, and drilled the bolt holes in the appropriate places.

And we got that air compressor back together today... That's a pain. Oh... @Cvargo That piano company we do pieces for is Steinway. Don't know why I couldn't remember that when we were talking....

Heh, the small allen wrench in your set is probably the size of the biggest one I've ever had.

Ones aren't that big. It only had four #10‐24 cap screws in it. They are about 3/16 of an inch. That piece wasnt very large.

So proud of my youngest. She asked me to go to town with her last night, so I did. She made her first "big girl" purchase as she calls it.
She's been picking my brain for advice on brands and thing to look for, and trying out a few models. We went last night and found a smoking deal thanks to a misprinted tag on a Heckler and Koch VP9.
I am a huge H&K fan. In my opinion, probably top of the line for use. Maybe not looks, but definitely reliability. I have put right around 80,000 rounds though my USP. The VP9 is a little different, but will suit her needs well and fits her a little better.
And because we all like photos, here is my baby girl's new toy.

And mine for those that have no clue what a USP looks like.
