Well @Aaron As I don’t know where you hail from or for that matter when it gets cold in your neck of the woods....option one starts “Monday”.....:p

I went with "2". I just am addicted to Bergamot. Though I do use it mostly from mid April thru September, I like to "cheer myself up" with a little in those terrible winter, gray days of January, February and March. Ugh. And they'll be here before I'm ready, as per normal!

First off...

"Beers and BBQ" season

I didn't know there was a season for this. In my neck of the woods it's a year round celebration!

Secondly...

Yesterday was a high of 96 degrees with 90% humidity and a heat index of 109. I just looked it today and it looks as if a cold front might move through the area...it will be a high of 91 and currently we have 100% humidity...and no...it isn't raining.

So...yeah...summer soaps and aftershaves are still in the rotation. When it does finally get cooler here...it rarely stays cold for very long. Even winters are peppered with their days in the upper 80s and sometimes 90s. So I just use what I want...when I want...and damned be all who can't stand my sandalwood and oud in 100 degree heat! 🤪

I never really place Summer/Winter labels on shaving products. I just use whatever I’m in the mood for that given day. I’m sure I probably tend to gravitate towards certain products depending on the season or temperature, but there’s nothing that I won’t use year round.

@dangerousdon I love you like a Brother...I live in Canada...you suck! 😂 Naaaah, just kidding. Yes we can BBQ and drink pints all year long but we calm down when we have to shovel through the snow drift to get to the Q.

Really good answers so far. I guess I just rotate for the sake of rotating. I feel like if I don’t I won’t get to everything and give it some good use. But I also don’t want to smell like pineapple and mango (All the time) in February...unless I am in a place where that would be the norm and not the fruit aisle at the supermarket! Also my soap and AS choice has a big influence on my frag of choice for that day. Sometimes vice versa.

Why retire any scent as they can be used year round depending on the morning mood/feel (option 2) and that’s what I seem to do. Besides why create a seasonal soap category unless it Is purely a marketing gimmick like all those “new” holidays we are to get greeting cards for ?

@Somnos Yes I spent many summers during high school and even university working at the CNE. Had fun and made good money

Good points @AJSharp i am an option three guy myself but for the most part I rotate the Summer scents out to make room for the Fall.... just me.

Yeah, he's going to be having fun BBQing this winter with a baby in one arm and his spatula in the other!

My neighbors BBQ in the winter. In a parka. That's too hardcore for this old guy!

It HAS been done here by this guy! Something magical about a couple of porterhouse on the grill...glass of vino in hand...in mukluks!

I put away the summer scents mid-September to early October. When 60 degrees is the average high vs. 75+, then it’s time to embrace fall and winter .... and boy, do I LOVE Michigan fall. True fall in my books (Along with what I imagine fall in the Northeast US, Canada, etc. you get my drift) ⛺🔥

I like the fall themed scents, so those start featuring more regularly this time of year. As @BadgerFiend said, Michigan falls are great and built for these kind of scents! Not to say that a summery scent or some menthol won’t come out in the depths of winter. Nothing like a shave with MITA and then shoveling the drive! 🤪

Also, I definitely BBQ in the winter... 😊

I will definitely grill well into December and January, I think I was grilling in February this year... that cold, crisp air is therapeutic.... Just like the menthol I keep around all year as well ☃️
Anyway, back to the thread....
