What Fragrance Did You Use Today?

Lime & Lavender note that's not abrasive in the least but, slightly astringent and acidic in the opening for 3-5 minutes. After, the aromatic nuance from the Lavender & Geranium with that soft touch of Vanilla gives it a slightly powdery nuance with a fresh Cologne like take on a barbershop scent but, something exquisitely more as the Ambergris (yes, still used by this house, sort of) with it's slightly salt like aroma that gets this smooth and creamy like aura that's beautifully grounded by a soft wood & hay/grass like note from the Haitian Vetiver. Simplistic in creation but, mindblowing nose-gasmic creation that is blended to near perfection. William Fraysse is a damn genius for this.

It’s really nice! Make me think of opening the door freezer on a hot summer day.

I sample Burlington, thankfully the local major dept. store is really stepping up its fragrance game. Very nice indeed.

Rapidly moving to my lemon top spot. And being my favorite note in the warm season, that’s a big deal. Opens like a high quality Myrsol Aqua di Limone, which gracefully transitions to a beautiful frankincense citrus. Being lemon, it’s not long lasting or loud, but it is fantastic.

PM: Nobile 1942 Pontevechio

Musky leather and vetiver. This popped up on my radar at a steep discount, and is one I’ve had my eye on for a while so went for it. Nobile 1942 uses a great dirty musk, their Fougere also has it, but I think this is an easier wear, and more focused on that musk and saddle soap type of leather accord. Like the previous fragrance it wears light, making it another safe wear, even though it’s definitely not a designer style easy scent.

AM: Heeley Vetiver Veritas
Just picked up a couple of new Heeleys the name sums it up this is for vetiver lovers only, but if you are, it’s one of the best I’ve tried. I get minty aspects in the opening and green grassyness in the dry down. Wears light, like most Heeleys but it still raw earthy vetiver, just flying under the radar, which I tend to prefer to day wear.\\

PM: Pantheon Roma Raffaello
Thick sticky and loud wormwood. Wormwood scents are often more aromatic and herbal but this is dense and creamy, like a green crème brûlée. Super linear, but the pea soup thick green cloud it makes is all I need from it. Maybe not for everyone, but it’s done in a way that feels very elegant in the air. Lovely.

Ormaie Les Brumes (official sample)
Ormaie has been one of those unexpected love houses for me. Les Brumes is a wonderful creamy gingered lemon pie in the opening, made even more creamy with a splendid sandalwood base. Like most of the one’s I have it’s not a projector, but still has a sort of gravity. Oddly that duality really works, keep them also feeling lightheaded in spirit, where a heavier hand could turn it into an overwhelmingly muddy mess.

I actually got the sample one or two years back, at the time it didn’t register as much, which goes to so how the nose develops. I’m still enjoying the almost sour cream lemon hours after putting it on today. Whereas when I first sampled it I didn’t smell any of that at all.
