Another sample, I really liked this one. It’s what I was hoping 1899 would be. I’d call it a spice type of fragrance. 1899 is considered to be a refined version of Spice Bomb by many, I’ve never tried spice bomb, so can’t say. 1899 has an outstanding opening, but on dry down there’s a pepper note, that just doesn’t agree with me, it’s like old man sweat. I can generate that on my own. Veni goes toward a bit more of a leathery undertone to my nose, and I really like it, a spice I can live with.
I find that this, 1969 and Ambre 114 all have a HdP’s signature Amber/Vanilla/Toffee in common, but Veni is the most classically masculine. Deffo recommend this one.
