Tonight I’m sipping punch. A homemade American punch which apart from the founding documents of our nation is probably the best thing to come out of the Colonial Era of the United States.
It contains the following liquors:
Mixed with lemon juice, sugar, and water.
It is sipping liquid sunshine and good feelings. Knowing that the founding fathers were probably drinking something similar in July 1776 is just an extra bonus (original recipe come from a club outside of Philadelphia that dates to the 1700s).
I usually make this for the 4th of July, but timing is off this year due to the birth of a nephew.
