Roasted Oatmeal Stout was my introduction to CBL soaps and I love everything about that soap. Now I’m curious about the Barbers’ Chair you also have. Lately Barbershop scents are very appealing to me.

The Barbers Chair is Awesome. The sent is spot on. Not to strong and not to light. I have quite a few and have had a few Barbershop scents. This one could become one of my Favorites.
Time will tell if it Dethrones my all time Favorite. Sterling Barbershop or Tabac.

I bought some 0.25 micron diamond spray to see what effect that has on the edge of my razor and the sharpness, and I also bought a new a 3" Artisan "Notovan" Horsehide Premium "Old No. 2" Strop made by Tony Miller/Heirloom Razor Strop Co
You should find that a little spray goes a long way, and sure to shake the container very well and apply lightly. I recommend making a nice balsa strop (flat solid piece of balsa wood attached to a flat solid piece of tile roughly the width of a typical strop and as long as a typical tile) you can use the balsa strop daily if you like, just 6-8 strokes will do a great job of maintaining and even helping to improve an edge. You can apply it to a cotton strop component too ( I did) but I wouldn’t use the cotton strop everyday day, only to liven up an edge that seems to have lost its pep or to finish an edge being honest. The cotton strop, even when held tightly can round out the edge ever so slightly if used too regularly. In my experience the .25 micron is a great grit to have, it can leave an edge feeling so sharp it feels harsh at times but I doubt you will complain. I’ll see if I can sneak some of the 0.1 micron iron oxide into the package I send you with soap samples, it doesn’t cut as fast and it’s red and messy but it can smooth out a harsh feeling edge and be a perfect finish when you need one.

I'm using a nanocloth strop made by Jende Stropping, it's designed for sprays and emulsions

I'm also using their spray, actually it's a sort of emulsion which you can apply to that strop. I heard stories of someone who has toxic honing stones because of the diamond spray, so that is why I have a special strop for it. Next on the list to try is 0.10 micron because I have razors from Koraat and he used 0.10 micron(which is comparable to 100.000 grit) diamond spray before he sends out his razors and I want to see if I can reach the feel of the first shave when you get a razor form him. The 0.25 micron diamond spray didn't gave a harsh feeling but I used it after after I finished it on my Thuringian honing stone, maybe when you finish completely with a synthetic progression then it will be harsh.

Thanks for the extra iron oxide!
