Interesting. That's getting bookmarked. Sometimes it's tricky finding good beard stuff that smells like your favorite colognes so you can pair them, but I'm glad the world of shave soaps and aftershaves has a better variety, especially as some brands no longer make an aftershave/shave foam of their stuff anymore. I'll have to give these a real look once I start to actually shave.
A lot of the artisans make quite a few dupes/homages of popular fragrances. All of the Stirling stuff with "Man" in the name, are inspired by House of Creed. (Executive Man = Aventus, Sharp Dressed Man = Green Irish Tweed, etc.); Hendrix Classics makes most of their soaps & splashes based upon popular frags, plus they also make EDPs. PAA, Wet the Face, Van Yulay and many more do likewise. PAA is the only one that comes to mind regarding beard oil; however. I've never tried their beard oil so I can't attest to the quality. (I use Wild man beard oils, for what it's worth.) I maintain a full beard but shave every day my high cheeks, and my neck (sometimes twice a day, I have a rather thick/rough beard that grows pretty quick in the cooler season)

Speaking of soap, doesn't one of the brands yall use have one that smells like popular male fragrances, like ralph lauren and stuff? I remember Stirling has one that smells like Pinaud for reference, but i don't think all their stuff is inspired by something else
Thirsty badger has a pretty comprehensive list of shave soap dupes; so if you've a particular scent in mind, just go there and type it in. It'll list whatever artisans make a dupe (though the list can be outdated for some, and might not list newer frags that artisans have released in homage)

I do that too but not as often. Any shave on my cheeks glide like butter but my neck is very sensitive. Even with a full ritualistic pre shave routine and the best razors, I still get razor burn/bumps. I don't go over it twice or Press too hard, my neck is just a pain so I'm stuck with a weekly neck beard lol.

always wanted to try the holy black; but their site never has anything available. It lists one non descriptive shave cream, but I keep seeing people post photos of new releases. Are they in house only? They still maintain a YouTube channel, and talk about frags they are making, so I know they're not out of business.
It's obnoxious actually. You have to sign up for their notifications and a few times a year they will release limited amounts of different things and you need to hop on it quick.

Ughhhh I hate when niche brands hype their stuff and make it too "gatekept" in a way with their audience. Like you need to be in too deep and subscribe to all their socials and stalk their page to snipe their releases. Even worse when the fans are snobby too.

Sometimes I see a limited fragrance I'm into, like beard oil and such, and it sounds good but they mention one note or ingredient that's mildly interesting, or it's some sort of collab with a minor celeb, and boom it's gone!

Since I switched to bowl lather in a scuttle (so warm lather); I haven't had any neck issues. I used to get some rash/burn on my neck, but the warm lather seems to have eliminated that.(I think I switched to a scuttle 5 years ago??) I do three passes and cleanup.

Don't always shave twice a day; but I'm going out for the evening, so I needed a cleanup. Decided to use something complimentary to my morning soap, and settle on this.
Great scent, and plenty of menthol to tighten up the skin so I don't look like I took a red marker to my neck.

They are all about doing limited production runs. I was on their site a few days ago and they had several soaps available in the secret stash section. They do everything inhouse from my understanding.

Between memes and a "short" list of Colognes......what else are you doing?
Your mo.... I mean busy painting and updating our house. Its been a long month and a half of renovation work on the bathrooms and kitchen. New HVAC being installed today. Later today, my buddy is coming to help me replace the last half our gold/brass light fixtures from early 90's. Unfortunately, the old ones constantly blow LEDs and we are looking for a more modern look.

Just arrived (after being radio silent for a week). Rich raspberry (not tart, nice sweetness); fades into pure, fresh cut Christmas tree. The splash; hmm, I smell something there, perhaps menthol, that doesn't interact well with the other ingredients. It's only my first impression, so after a few more trials, I'll be able to determine if it's a winner or not. The soap definitely is a winner, the splash, to be determined. The performance was great. And since I shaved last night, it was a crunch test, only 1/2 day of growth. Slick, cushiony. The weird thing, was that there was no foam stage when I whipped up the lather in my scuttle. It went straight from mashed wet soap, to lather. No bubbles, just rich and creamy. This is my first soap from Noble Otter, it won't be my last. Good stuff

Another new arrival. Took a flyer on this one; as their other Christmas scent was something akin to Christmas cookies, and that's not up my alley. (I'm not a gourmand fan) This smells like a candied floral. Not sickly sweet, but definitely sweet. I'd liken it to a floral jolly rancher, if they ever made such a thing. Off the tub, it smells more like Green River Soda (that glorious neon green liquid that's been a midwest staple for decades). But that definitely transitions to a more floral scent once the lather is whipped up. And the aftershave is much more floral, especially on the dry down. I was super impressed with the lather itself. Whips up fast and easy, into a rich, dense cloud. Will certainly purchase more Adopted Acres in the future (this was my first foray into Adopted Acres soaps)

I'm still out right now, I'll post a Pic soon, but i just got out of cvs. Was browsing for regular toiletries and maybe something to add to a gift. Went to the line and saw a random stray bottle of Paul Sebastian and apparently it was 50% off. Well, I was interested, and also a extra care member with some points to spend and a monthly bonus bucks. Don't ask me how, but I got a new 2oz bottle for around 3 bucks. That is bonkers to me

Side note. Nothing was wrong with the box, it's just it's so old and sat on the shelf so long the plastic wrap stuck to the box!

Wow. What a steal.

1000001681.jpgnothing too crazy! Picked up some goodline brand grooming razors and folding straight edge razor. They were on sale and I had coupons, so I figure I'd pick em up for "baby's first straight". I probably won't use it until spring but it's fun to admire. But I did use the touch up razor and it felt fine, worked well for shaping my beard.
