I almost grabbed that but decided to let it pass because I don’t expect I would use it much. Nice to have regardless but I have decided to think long and hard before picking stuff up just to have in my collection. There are a few other unique razors I’m still watching but will probably let most of them go.

Glad you didn't grab it so I could. It isn't a franken razor per-say but is made by Merkur in Germany. They made clones for Weck, Adams and another the name of which escapes me.

I don't recall seeing them on ebay much but a search of sold items reveals the ones that did exist went for a tidy sum.

This guy arrived a little bit ago. Looks pretty snazzy! Kinda slippery/slick! Condition is fairly good, just a few very minor brown spots I’ll have to investigate on how to clean up. Everything seems to fit fairly snugly though (guard and blade). Love the weight! The guard bends back away from the blade which I did not know! I wonder why? Maybe just to smooth the pass?

One question stemming out of the last picture. The guard kind of pushes the blade out a bit off center; is this normal?

I'm not home to check Chris but I don't remember it pushing on the blade. Just resting against it smoothly. I hope it's not tweaked. Maybe @CBLindsay or @Spider etc will chime in
