Top rated DE razors

Im thinking of getting the open comb plate for my Timeless Ti.

Anyone used both the solid and open comb?

Much difference in the shave?

There are a ton of guys around here who rave about the game changer though, but I have yet to try one. I'll get to it eventually.

Ditto. It seems to get a lot of love, moreso than even the Mamba does / did. As I'm a mild shave guy, I'll probably begin with the 68 first. The 86 sounds too much for me.

Rockwell 6S in all three spots.

Rockwell 6s, Gillette Slim, and Razorock Lupo would be my top three.

I love the smoothness of the 6s, but I so wish they'd make a titanium or aluminum version. So...darn...heavy. lol.

The Slim is efficient, adjustable, smooth, and classic. It's not too heavy, but built to last nonetheless.

The Lupo is the biggest surprise I've found in shaving this year. It's light, shockingly efficient, and cheap. Ooh, and unlike it's namesake, I can actually buy one. Lol. [emoji16]

The Parker Variant is the first DE razor I've purchased and I absolutely love it. For the money, it's just a good solid razor that can be mild or aggressive, hence the variable setting abilities. I've found that I like the ability to shift the aggressiveness down when shaving problem areas. With a feather blade in it, I've not had a better shave except from a SR.

I found it to be too aggressive, even on the mild setting.

Somewhat curious about this..... especially since you said you like mild razors. That's where I'm at too.
Another shave with the Lupo last evening. It really is smooth. Not Rockwell 6 smooth, but it also beats my 6s in efficiency.

I found it to be too aggressive, even on the mild setting.
Have you tried the Gillette slim? That's a Mild but efficient razor, imo. Even on a higher setting it felt quite mild.

I saw a post somewhere that the slim and Fatboy both have added posts which keep the blade rigid adding to the quality of the shave. I recall it was compared to the standard Gillette TTOs (Superspeed and flairs), which do not enjoy this feature. I should look for that and reread it... It made me like my Slim even more. Lol.

So when you had it set on 1 or 2 you found it aggressive? Did it cut you or just give you irritation? When I get in the 5 or 5+ range it can get a little aggressive with any high spots I might have such a moles or raised areas.

I love my Fatboy, but I've never cared for the Slim. I don't get smooth shaves from it, for some reason. Never figured out why there's a difference.

Very close, but the Slim’s has a slightly thinner profile.

Really? I didnt know that.

To me, the black beauty, the fatboy and slim head looks exactly the same.

I thought the only difference was the handle design and weight.

Excuse me if im wrong. Lol
