But I started doing it not for the taste, but to stop static from holding the last bit of grinds in the container when I dump it from the hopper into the storage tin.

Same here. Had a grinder with a plastic catcher and the static was terrible.

I forgot all about posting these on vacation a few weeks back.
The 1st one is on the big island.
2nd was on Kauai.
FYI I surly loaded up on Kona coffee. I went on a few coffee tours on the Big Island.
Price was about $40 a pound.

Kona blend 100% almost all is medium dark roast.
About 1/2 done with my purchases.
Drinking a nice pot this morning. I usually use sugar with my coffee but this coffee is so smooth it needs nothing.
