....... and now I hate it. Ugh! I was really looking forward to this soap and finally getting to try the elixir.

I know there’s a lot of love for GTB out there, so I’m really curious if you all agree that they are scent twins.

I don't know what you're on, this morning, but it smells NOTHING like that. I would know if it did.

I have GTB Soap & Aftershave. So when I get the Package I will Definitely see if it Smells the same. I LIKE GTB By the way.

Really? I’m going off of memory. So I could be wrong. I know it smells exactly like something I’ve smelled before. And to me, when I sniffed it this morning, my brain went right to GTB..... maybe another CF soap?

I'll have to remember to give it another examination via nostril when I get home.

Then what does it smell like? I used to have the entire line of CF aftershaves in samples, and I swear it smells like one of them. I got rid of them, because I didn’t like any of them, so I can’t compare now.
 
Going from memory and a brief sniff last night, Sherlock? From the scent of Lisa's I would guess Summer Storm, but I've never used that one.
 
Since you guys are saying it’s not GTB, my brain is now thinking Summer Storm. No idea why, but that’s the connection my brain is making now.

Nope. Summer storm, at least to me is very pine/pine resin forward with a bit of an aquatic note in the back.

The Barber Shoppe to me had an almost Mahogany note to it.

Just say to yourself “it smells like (fill this spot in with something you like that isn’t CF)” and see if it changes your perception. I know for sure Sherlock and GTB are very different, it’s possible to like/dislike either but they are very different. Summer storm is in a whole different ball park from Sherlock for sure, maybe, possibly, near GTB but other than a hint of dirt there’s no Sherlock. ...but I don’t have the Lisa’s to even sniff and guess at the moment so I am out of this sniff fest. I DID however manage to order a bunch of the barbershop pine tree air freshener’ s you found 👍 ...so you’re saying Lisa’s soap doesn’t smell like those?

Not at all. Those smell like Barbasol or Gillette Foamy.
 
So when Lisa and I were talking about what scent to do. Her and I spoke alot. We agreed Barbershops are over done. But we wanted to take a different spin on it. Me being a citrus fan I felt like some citrus notes would be nice. If I remember correctly she also added some aquatic notes to round it out.

I really like this scent and KJ you should lather it up and see how that changes the notes for you. I really think this should be winner for most people.

Overall for all the soaps we tried to stay away from the very polarizing notes like tumbleweed for example ;)
