Thanksgiving Day shave. Just something quick but good. Lots to be thankful for but hopefully there are better days ahead.

I have been waiting to try this new soap set since I placed the pre-order for it. B&M Leviathan has always interested me from a scent profile as it is a Russian leather blended with sandalwood, coffee, cedar and musk. I have some coffee forward scents and quite enjoy them blended with chocolate or leather scents. This scent is really quite neat and on first blush grabs your attention. The scent off the tub is medium strong and it gets amped up exponentially by the time you get to the balm and EDT. I won’t comment on it here though as it really does deserve a couple of back to back shaves to saviour it. Like a good movie.

What I will comment on is the Excelsior Base. I have two other B&M soaps in the collection and this is the first Excelsior soap. Big point...load less and add more water. The soap is super creamy but it will sit like Greek yogurt meets stucco on your face if you don’t get the water to soap ratio sorted. By the third pass it was starting to get right. So that will be a note to self for the next shave.

Got through three beautiful and intoxicating passes. Went for the balm and it is a scent bomb. This is the first sniff at the whole scent profile they were shooting for. But again, I will hold off on my opinion. Really good as a balm though. I was worried about the small size coming in at 2oz but you really need just a little to get the job done. Onto the EDT and more of that scent profile only deeper. It really is enjoyable and with each piece...soap, balm and EDT more of the components are given the spotlight as they should. Balanced and enjoyable. More to come on this one. Enjoy your day and your shaves.

Good shave this morning however, I really have to dial in the B&M Leviathan. Loaded less this time and added more water but still had to switch to the bowl to whip up a lather after face lathering for the first pass. Still quite an enjoyable shave scent-wise. Happy Monday!

Rainy October day but a wonderful shave nonetheless. The Colonial General SE is a wonderful razor that shaves mildly but destroys the beard. From the first shave it has impressed and I am happy I have it in the collection.

Stirling Gatlinburg was the soap of choice today. There is just something so good about this scent profile. I know it’s a bit much for some folks but I could easily wear this all day, every day and not get bored of it. Like a comfy sweater.

Beautiful BBS shave. Might just revisit this combo for Friday again. Paired it today with Guerlain Derby as opposed to my go to JV Dark Rebel. I rather enjoy the sweeter leather of the Derby today. All and all a fantastic shave.
