Yeah Doug! What's the plan...man!

By the way...picked up my dollar tree razor yesterday. Actually...picked up five. So if there is anyone in need of one...let me know.

Funny story though. I was checking out and the cashier struck up a conversation with me. I'm just that kind of person...people are drawn to me...

. Anyway...the cashier, she says that she has had several people ask her where they can get replacement blades for that razor. So I was happy to tell her that for about a saw buck or a little more...someone can go on Ebay or Amazon and purchase a 100 pack! But what I was really thinking is...first of all...who the hell wants to buy more blades for this razor?! I mean...the shave can't be that good...right? Secondly, It's a dollar store...just buy another razor with another pack of blades...it's only going to cost you a dollar!
Our local 99cent only store has 10 packs of ‘personna’ blades in a hard case. I have not tried them but I have given them to my kids to use and they don’t complain. Seriously though, if the dollar tree thing gets people interested I thinks it’s a good thing.
In the interest of science I gave the dollar tree 6 blade disposable a try and found it to be pretty good. The down side was when I tried the second one in the pack it was horrible. QC must cost more than a buck.

Here is how we are going to do this:

As soon as the razor is in hand proceed at will with the shaves.
The first shaves with it should be with the included Assurance blades.
In keeping with Chad's "Bad Blades" series, we will be doing at least 3 shaves on a single blade.
Each shave must be completed with just the Assurance blade.
Post about the shaves in this thread, Pictures or video are appreciated, especially if fluid loss occurs.
After the third shave everyone is on their own for further exploits with the razor and/or the blades.

I'm glad I sat this one out. The blades that came with mine just tore my face right up. The razor wasn't bad but I won't shave with these blades ever again.

Gentlemen...the Monkey just issued a peer pressure challenge.

I've survived a Feather in a Futur with poor beginner technique, shaving with a Bolsano blade, using Proraso red soap, and shaving with my own first attempt at honing a straight razor to a super keen 800 grit finish. (yes you read that right.....)
How hard can it be!?!?

Okie dokie! Just finished my first shave. Did a video and am waiting for the clips to back up and then on to editing and uploading. I have to run to my Physical Therapy in a few so the video will likely be up later this morning or early afternoon.
