Don, you were in the Marines...I know you're aware of the 10% rule...

Dude! I live by the 10% rule! And fail 90% of the time!

On my way home, I stopped and picked up a couple of these. But since I’m in the one blade February, it’ll have to wait, for me to run it through it’s paces. All these varied reviews has me curious.

So much for "It doesn't interest me" ?

Oh man, todays shave was actually really nice. So first off due to the craziness of the past week it's been 4 days since I last shaved. I also decided to use just a bit more pressure with the brush while loading the soap and man did that make a difference. Tons of very nice dense and slick lather. Guess I have been to light handed with this soap.

Now for the razor. Started with the "aggressive" side and it had no issues taking the hair down. Switched to the "mild" side for pass 2 and there were times that if it weren't for the sound I may have forgotten there was even a blade in it. I was very surprised and ended up with a 2 pass 95% BBS with the rest DFS+ and zero irritation and no loss of fluids.

Had to go back and fix this...respect.

Thanks Josh! I don't usually correct people...I know what they mean and there is never I'll intention. Some guys get real stupid about that. But I do appreciate the respect! Now...let's find you a job stateside!

After shaking my head at the very thought of this particular challenge, I have been called out by Mr Gearnoir. I'll try to pick up the required gear tomorrow.

So I did finish my 3rd shave yesterday, but it will be included in the video review of Catie's Bubbles today...so y'all get a TWOFER video...2 shaves 1 video!

On a side note....man, between 3 soaps 1 bowl, 2 shaves 1 video...shades of a disturbing video trend are arising. It's kind of like my Pink Ivory brush done by Eric...it's so bad, but I can't help but call it the pink chubby.

Is there a pic of that brush somewhere? Pink ivory is such an interesting wood. I am working on a set of Razor scales made of that right now.

IDK Josh. I'd have to give Don a pass on this one. Since I make blades, I like to think I know at least the basics of how to use them, and these just weren't good. I only got one pass out of mine.

I honestly think these are the rebar of DE blades. Smelt whatever junk you can find and form it into shape. Maybe you'll get a good piece, maybe not. And since we are all over with these things, and we are all fairly experienced at shaving, that just reinforces that thought for me.

These are the Russian Roulette of shaving.

2019 Shave # 35

Razor: Dollar Tree $1 Razor
Blade: Sputnik (8)

Brush: Sorrentino Hybrid Synthetic

Soap: CBL Soaps Ghost Lime
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Avon Island Lime

So watching everyone else with their $1 Razors got me hankering to try a better blade in mine. Even though the Sputnik is on shave 8 and dull as far as I'm concerned, it got me a good close shave leading me to feel although an aggressive blade exposure the razor can yield a good shave with a better blade in it. I did have to fiddle to get it aligned and the doors don't quite close even. I also see the rust starting on it so it's days are numbered for sure. Still, I got an irritation free shave that is close and probably last as most of my shaves do compared to the Assured blade. Matched up my CBL Ghost Lime with Avon Island Lime for an enjoyable shave and nice smelling finish. Have a GREAT day Cadre !!

Well...I'm glad someone got a good shave out of that razor! And with the Ghost Lime and Island Lime combo...you most certainly do smell good!
