I did a comparison shave this afternoon of the Proof Benchmark vs the Rex Page. Today's shave caused a lot of irritation on both sides. The Proof Benchmark was definitely more efficient. I was fighting with the Rex to get any kind of efficiency. I know from past experience that the Proof can handle multiple days of growth, where the Rex Page cannot.

At least the Razorock Don Marco shave soap did a good job and smelled great... Neroli and Bergamot.

I try this comparison again with different soap and different blades tobsee of it is any better... or worse.

Awesome shave Akhi!

Sunday morning:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/new 7 O’Clock
Delmy SS
Prep ASB
Booster Polar Ice AS Splash

These 7 O’Clocks are such fantastic blades - not only are they very sharp, they’re also very forgiving especially when I use them in my cherished 50s Super Speed. This Delmy soap is from India and it’s probably the CHEAPEST shaving item on this planet - it costs perhaps 25 cents so even a man on an ultra tight budget can afford it. Despite its small size it gives huge performance - it has a beautiful old school barbershop scent, I find the best way to use it is to wet it and rub it all over my face and neck like a stick, a moderately wet brush makes the lather explode, it’s surprisingly slick, and the post-shave feeling is fairly comfortable. The Prep balm delivered very generously on the soothing and moisturizing not to mention how wonderful the Polar Ice felt when I slapped it on - its scent is identical to the Delmy soap. Three passes with the new 7 O’Clock blade gave me an awesome BBS shave that was so much fun!

Wishing you all a great Sunday - be well and stay safe!

Great shave, Akhi! Another soap from the vault. 😁

Another great Tabac shave, Akhi!
Great shave, Akhi! Another soap from the vault. 😁
Thanks Akhi!

I bought a bunch of stuff from Captain Nemo Shaving Supplies in Kolkata, India and this Delmy soap got thrown into the package as well. To be honest I’m happy I received it but believe me, I don’t think it’s something I’d want on a regular basis!

Menthol Monday’s Frigid Report:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 2
Stirling Glacial Cedar SS
Gold Bond Moisturizer
Stirling Glacial Cedar AS Splash

After using a setup like this one I think I’ll need all day for my face to thaw out. A most enjoyable and awesome three pass BBS shave even if I say so myself!

Wishing you all a great week ahead - be well and stay safe!

Menthol Monday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Palmolive Menthol
Jayaruh #144
Hoffritz Travel Razor
Astra SP
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Mennen Skin Bracer

The Palmolive Menthol Shaving Cream face-lathered well with Jayaruh #144 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Hoffritz Travel Razor and the Astra SP Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
