Soap/cream of the day

I wonder, yall. Is the scent of your soap really meaningful after the shave? Or is it for the pleasure of it "in the moment" while you shave? I ask because I assume most wash off their face and apply whichever post shave toiletries and choice aftershave, which would override whatever scent might've been there.

This is not an insult in any way, but curiosity.

Definitely an “in the moment” experience for me. However, I often use shave soaps which have matching aftershaves and / or frags so in those instances the scent lasts longer.
