Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Yuzu Rose Patchouli
with two drops of Folgate Lavender Essential Oil from Martha Lane Lavender, Sequim, Washington
One of my most favored shaving soaps given a boost of essential oil of lavender which I obtained during the Sequim Lavender Festival on the Olympic Peninsula in July. I sniffed perhaps 12 or so essential oils of different types of lavender distilled there on the Martha Lane Lavender Farm and chose 2 that I particularly liked. Folgate was particularly pungent and distinctive. On a whim, as I lathered I added some to a soap which has no lavender in it. This made for a shaving lather with an extraordinary scent. Sometimes experiments pay off. I didn't think it was possible to improve upon the scent of a soap which is already in my top tier--I was wrong. The shave as a whole was exquisite.
Thanks to Dagwoodz for including this soap sample with a straight purchase.
Unique and nice soap, smells like rose on the puck, but to me it smelt, and felt like tanning lotion on the face.
It was a nice shave, and I'm liking some of the simpler soaps I've tried recently.
