Inspired by Cedar Man himself, @dangerousdon , I give you the Yuzu (and therefore citrus) heavy scent of Kyoto. Of course this is like no citrus scent you have ever smelt--more like a saw mill combination of woods, sour citrus and seaweed which is perfect for the forest setting I now find myself in Forks, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. If this sounds familiar, you might be a fan of the Twilight series.
The Club Oriental Oud, a collaboration with Alexandria Fragrances
This soap is currently available to Club members at the usual discount. This is my second use and I find the scent and the performance of the soap both very appealing. Certainly, I looked forward to using it today. The soap lathers into a glossy sheen. As described by the maker the scent is as follows: "Oriental Oud is visceral, earthy and captivating. Pungent aromas of dark vetiver and rich oud are woven together, decorated on the edges with citrusy hints of lemon and orange. A bit of sweet saffron and soft lavender fill out the rest of the bouquet. "
Following it up with the matching aftershave enhances the experience.
Matching EdP is available separately from Alexandria Fragrances.
Like all soaps from this maker, this one produces a really nice lather that has a beautiful sheen if lathered correctly. The scented is a muted but unmistakable sandalwood--if my memory of how sandalwood really smells is true, this soap is the real deal. The downside is that this soap is on the expensive side.
