Razor Sharpening with Convexed Hones

I've just not long had the shaping plate from jarred of the superior. I've been using flat hones for years and at times felt I was missing something. After shaping a couple of my hones., 3k pro on the short axis and the 8k Norton on the long axis , then finishing with a flat black Arkansas stone that jarred gave me, all I can say is wow , I was lost for words . The difference was phenomenal. The edge and cutting action was improved and the smoothness was superb!!
