Ramblings of a MilkCrate

Yikes. You'll nail it, Tim. Just takes practice. I sharpened the kitchen knives at work and I did better on them that I did with my pocket knife. Practice makes better.

Arrrrgh maties! Picking them up and knocking them down today with a bit of a kit switch up. It’s Tuesday, so the Torrey got the nod. Also thought I would give the Vulfix another spin. A 30 second load time whipped up some really nice, slick lather. I don’t know what it is but this brush is still shedding. But it’s like hair pieces ... weird.

40 laps on leather this morning and it was the moment of truth. Who am I kidding, the edge on this razor is fine. Went with my standard three pass shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Very nice shave ... that was redemption. Enjoyable shave that laid waste to that stubble. I did miss a small spot on the jawline, so we’ll call that a DFS for the win!

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and towel dry. A glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! That’s what I was looking for right there and man I smell great. Life is good!

Happy Hump Day! Late posting, but an early morning shave. I will confess that I hit snooze one too many times and had to grab a DE. The Slim hasn't got much love lately, so it got the nod. It has an Astra SP in it, but I lost the shave count on it. Probably less than 5. Anyway grabbed a boar today ... just because. The Zenith is a soft badger that splays nicely and will flat whip up some lather. But for whatever reason, it still sheds. It lost two hairs that I know of today. But with a 30 second load time on the soap, the lather did not dissappoint.

Went with my standard three pass shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was an outstanding shave and I am BBS for the win! Man that felt great! Nothing wrong at all with an easy peasy shave and I will take those all week long. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and towel dry. A glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! Quick, simple, efficient ... and I smell great. Life is good!

So what was the successful progression of stones?

Haven’t got back to it yet. Crazy work week so far and I have been bringing work home.

But the progression will be Naniwa 1k, 5k, 8k, 12k. Follow that up with the SB Ark. I am determined that will be the winning combo. I’ve fallen as far as I care to down this rabbit hole :)

Hmmmm. I skipped 5k entirely. But I'm also currently at 8k as my highest stone. Gotta save my pennies for the 12k and whatever else is after that.

So this morning I go to shave and the DSC Badger is in the wrong spot. So I ask the missus if she tried the brush. She did and she loved it. She said it was “poofy-er?” Than her RazorRock Plissoft.

She said she loaded it like she saw @Joe Hackett do in his new razor video. She had a really nice, slick lather going with enough for both legs. She said she couldn’t do that with the RazorRock. Looks like I may have lost another brush to the missus. What?!

Happy Halloweeen! Another day and another shave down. And another quick(ish) update today with the following kit changes: back to the Torry and the Stirling boar. I said this somewhere else, but this is a good all around brush. I'm digging it. Dropped my load time down to 25 seconds and still had a ton of lather to work with.

40 laps on the leather this morning and the Torrey was ready for action. Went with my standard three pass shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was nice ... very nice! A really great shave and I am BBS for the win! Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and towel dry. A glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! Love this Bay Rum and I have really enjoyed it this week ... arrrrrg! Life is good!

Home Front-
Wrapping up things at work with the finalizing of a big project. That will be nice to have checked off my list. A somber day with friends saying goodbye. The only thing I know of for the weekend is helping my brother do some work to winterize things around his house.
