Today’s Shave

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Scuttle: none
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Ralf Aust
Blade: none
Brush: Simpson Berkeley
Soap: AA Bay Rum

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: AA Bay Rum

The Deets-
Feeling a bit spicy last week, so … Bay Rum got the nod. Enjoyed it so much that I used it all week and through the weekend also. Good stuff! The Ralf Aust hadn’t been on deck much, so today it got the nod as well.

Whipped up a great lather this morning, wet and slick. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Yeah … I have really been digging the bay rum. I did miss a smidge under my chin, so we’ll call it a DFS for the win!

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and towel dry. A healthy splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain. Life is good!

Home Front-
Yesterday was our second fishing tournament of the year and the temps were brutal. Started out with temps in the low 20’s and I am not a fan … yuck. Other than that, just working and waiting for warmer weather.

Apologies for missing the zoom call, had our dog at the emergency vet. She had gotten pretty sick and it really took hold after our normal vet hours. Those dudes are crazy expensive, but it looks like we have her sorted out now.

Sorry to hear about your pooch - glad she’s doing better. Did you catch any fish? When you do, please bring some fish tacos to the next Zoom call (this Sunday) and all will be forgiven. 👍

Thankfully the doggo is back to normal now.

We did catch fish and we came in 5th place Saturday. Tournaments are catch and release so no fish tacos for the call.

I don’t think I mentioned (or maybe I did) that last year my stepson and I took Anglers of the Year and I took big bass for the year. During our championship in November, we took 2nd place, heavy hitters bag and big bass on day 1. It was an outstanding year and our awards should be coming in early March. Custom jerseys and stuff … most exciting!

Congrats!! Man, I haven't been fishing in years.. 🐟

Glad your dog is better. Our congratulations are in order, I guess. Please come to the Zoom call anyway. No fish tacos. Bummer. 😥

Today’s Shave

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Notovan
Scuttle: PAA Brush Warmer
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Waterville SR
Blade: none
Brush: School House Rock Boar
Soap: TSC Clown Puke

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: Ethos Lavender

The Deets-
Greetings and salutations! I have been using Which One’s Pink all week and decided to mix it up a bit. After taking the pic for today, I called an audible and changed things up. So … my shave description doesn’t match the pic. Anyway, late morning shave and it was glorious! Going to be in the mid-70s today, but the brush warmer sounded like a good idea, and it was.

This clown puke whipped up a great lather with minimal effort. I couldn’t nail down a single scent note, but it’s light and pleasant. Should work well with any aftershave. So onto the shave. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Lather was slick and delivered a great post shave feel as well. This razor needs a light touch up, so we’ll also call this one DFS for the win!

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and towel dry. A healthy splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Sometimes that Lavender just hits the spot. Life is good!

Today’s Shave

Pre Shave-
Strop: none
Scuttle: none
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Gillette Old Type
Blade: Treet 7 Day
Brush: Shavemac Beehive
Soap: AOS Unscented

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: O’ Selvaggio

The Deets-
So … a fun shave this morning. I started out with the Solingen SR on deck, but that quickly changed. Bloomed the vintage AOS for a minute while I was pulling my gear together.

Whipped up a great lather, lathered up and was ready for my first pass. Then the power went out. Yeah, we had a squall line passing through with 70 mph winds and out went the lights. Set down the SR and thankfully had my phone in my pocket for some light. Found the backup candle on the window sill and it was game on again.

I couldn’t remember if my last candle light shave challenge was SR or DE. But I wasn’t feeling froggy this morning, so the Old Type got the nod. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. The power outage was unexpected, but it was a fun change up this morning. Lather did a great job, as well as the new Treet blade. And did I mention that I walked away BBS for the win!

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and towel dry. A healthy splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain. Man, I really dig this AS too. Life is good!

That same storm system is hitting us later on this evening.
