The Deets-
This week I have been using my Torrey with MWF and Florida Water. Some good shaves were had and it’s been awhile since I have used Florida Water. Changed it up today and went with Intrepid Man. When jumping from a vintage razor to a Gold Dollar, you can feel how much heavier the GD is. Nothing wrong with it, just heavier. And if honed right, can deliver a great shave.

20 laps on cotton and 60 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Three very smooth passes and I am BBS for the win! Chased that with a healthy splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! The fragrance change was nice too. Life is good!

Home Front-
Well, there have been several things going on in our household over the last few weeks. Some I have mentioned and some I haven’t. One thing was the worst sinus infection I had ever had. I had facial swelling (left side) and pain to the touch. I felt like I was also getting an ear infection. The strangest thing was like I had lock jaw on that side. I couldn’t open my mouth. Ten days of soup really kinda sucked. I stayed on my meds and treated the symptoms. I am not 100% yet, but probably 90%. And the tension in my jaw has been loosening daily. I am so excited that my food choices are opening back up.

Ouch! Glad you’re doing better!

I’ve had similar sinus infection and swelling off and on for years, except it was localized to my nose area. Not fun. Mine was due to an old nose injury though.

Sorry to hear about the Sinus infection. The one you described is the most painful types.

I've had sinus issues since a long time. Doses of antibiotics and painkillers/ anti-inflammation drugs and their terrible side effects, I finally relented last year and heard my medic to try an ancient Indian Yoga technique called "Jal Neti" - "water culture".
It took away my sinuses infection and inflammation issues for life, hopefully.

You can YouTube it. It's clean warm salt water - salty and warm as much as our tears, introduced from one nostril and allowed you flow our through the other nostril naturally.

When not having any issues I do it two weekend days and I feel much better.

Shave Count (DE: 615 SE: 9 SR: 979)

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Scuttle: GP Scuttle
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Torrey SR
Blade: none
Brush: ShaveMac Beehive
Soap: Hendrix Classics Emperor Oud (sample)

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: Thayers Cucumber WH

The Deets-
Wasn’t sure what scent I wanted today, so I dug through the sample bag and pulled out the Hendrix. Had a very nice three pass, late morning shave. It built up a nice wet lather in the scuttle and the scent is nice. I would like it a bit stronger in the scent department, but maybe the AS kicks it up a notch. No sure.

At any rate, it was a nice shave that I wrapped up with a splash of Thayers. I don’t have an AS to pair with it, so I stopped at the WH. Almost forgot to mention that the soap delivered a nice post shave as well. Welp, let’s see what the day has in store for us. Life is good!
