The Deets-
What a day! Had to go into the office today and was running a bit behind. I have really taken advantage of not commuting and was scrambling today. Between hitting snooze too many times and taking care of the dogs, I missed my morning shave … grrrrr. Went to work scruffy and I hate that. Put in a full days work and didn’t get finished. Got home and had more to do. Knocked that out and it was time for an evening shave.
So … I know I’m going the wrong way with purchasing a new soap. And I don’t usually buy soaps that are no longer in production. The reason is that I may really like it and then not be able to find it again. But, here we are with a limited release from Victory Shaving. This is the last production run before the company closes the doors … so there ya go. No rhyme or reason.
I get cherry pipe smoke and coffee off the puck and can’t pick up the other notes. I haven’t tried any type of food scented soap before, at least purposefully. I thought that would be kinda strange, but I’m digging this scent. And come on, pipe smoke and coffee has to have a warm lather. BOOM! I got the same scent when lathered, but stronger. I had it too wet to start, but it didn’t collapse on me. I kept working it and it settled right down whipping up a nice lather. This soap has some good slickness too that was giving me some grief with skin stretching, but I managed. Three smooth passes and I am BBS for the win! Very nice!
Wrapped it up with just witch hazel because I don’t have anything close to matching this. It has been better than 30 minutes since my shave and I can still smell the scent … good stuff.
The missus doesn’t need to render an opinion on this soap, it’s a one and done. Life is good!
