The Deets-
A very nice shave to wrap up the work week. I stayed with the 30 second load time and whipped up a bunch of nice lather. The bottom of the tin is poking through in spots, hopefully not too much longer. The Stirling brush has stopped shedding and has plenty of hair to get the job done. It has softened up nicely too and still has plenty of backbone. I am still digging this brush scuttle. I soaked the brush for a couple of minutes in the top cup. Then dumped the water, loaded the brush from the soap tin and dropped it in the warmer.

I went with 10 laps on linen and 40 on leather and it was go time. The smell of new leather is fantastic. I’ve also noticed a different sound when stropping on this one, maybe the fresh wax? I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Dropped the brush back into the warmer between passes and really enjoyed that warm lather. Another very nice shave and I am BBS for the win! Oh yeah! Also used the remaining lather for a warm post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Folks, a shave doesn’t get any better. Life is good!

I've had my newer Notovan for a while, and even with the old one it still has a very distinctive sound when stropping. I think it has something to do with how that leather is treated, and not sure if it ever goes away. I kind of like it personally, along with the distinctive leather smell that is somewhat different from my other strops.

The Deets-
So my work day yesterday ended at 4:12a this morning. My workday today started at 7:30a this morning ... man I can tell I’m not as young as I used to be. It was a rough day and didn’t have time for much of a lunch either. Just throw some noodles in the microwave and go.

So I finally got off work today at 4:30p and I am toast. Took a few minutes to walk around and unwind, trying not to sit still too long or I will fall asleep. What better way to wake up ... a very nice shave. I’m simple like that I guess. Changed out my soap and razor and got after it. Had a very nice shave and walked away BBS for the win! Life is good!

The Deets-
Last night, I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow. This morning started out slow and easy. Woke up without the alarm, which is my weekend normal. Enjoyed a couple of cups of coffee and then grabbed a shower. It is raining today, no lightening and thunder, just a nice easy rain. That gave me an idea. I opened the bathroom window and listened to the rain for a few minutes. A slight breeze, the sound of rain falling, the pitter of rain on grass and tree leaves. Hm ... so I left the window open and that was my shave music this morning.

10 laps on linen and 40 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. That was a great shave when you take in the whole experience. Three smooth passes and the relaxing sound of rain ... so nice. And to round it out, I am BBS for the win! Finished with a warm post shave lather.

I wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain. It will be a lazy day because of the rain, but I can probably find something to do. Life is good!
