CC Venture AS

The process-
Had to help my dad with a bit of farm work, so it was a late morning. Decided to go random ... it is the weekend ya know. Went with the Venture today and that was a good call. I was looking for messy so I grabbed the DSC also. Ran the brush a bit wet and went with a 30 second load time. Man I hit the water band just right and it exploded into some super slick goodness. And I did have a mess going ... good times.

Went with the standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG and have no drama to report. I am more of a vintage 5 speed guy, but I can make due with a 4 speed when needed. Whimsical razor, but that was a great shave. Easy peasy and I am BBS for the win! Man these ‘jectah’s are nice!

Had a ton of lather left for a post shave too. Wrapped everything up with splash of water and a drip dry. A splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! That was an outstanding shave and the dry down was very nice as well. I guess this combo has lots of skin food because the face feels great. The only complaint I have is that the scent fades too fast. But that’s it. I may have to replace this with Stirling Executive Man when it’s used up.

Home front-
Have some errands and to-dos for today. Also brought home some work that has to be done by Monday morning. So there is that. Toes are doing better and I was able to ditch the bandages. Now the nails just need to grow back. That’s it for nowLife is good!

CBL Tonsorial soap - Sir Fougere

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
Florida Water AS

The process-
Late morning shave ... you know it. Mixed the kit up a bit and grabbed the new CBL Tonsorial sample. I lean more towards the soaps because of the lower cost per shave. Anyway, the Fougere is a light fresh scent and I also have it in the Premium line. Got to work with a wet(ish) brush and it lathered up nicely. Threw water at it, as I went, and had a nice lather going. The lather doesn’t really build up like the premium line, but that’s not what I am after.

Gave the Biker 20 laps on Cotton and 40 on leather. Went with the standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG and have no drama to report. That was a really nice shave and I am BBS for the win! The shave itself is a bit different, just due to the ingredients, but a very nice shave none the less.

I also had a ton of lather left for a post shave. Wrapped everything up with splash of water and a drip dry. A glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! The initial dry down was clean but not super hydrated feeling and this is by design. Your post shave routine can take care of that. I dig the Florida Water too. That brought the softer face feel and the scent is nice ... but fleeting. A nice all around shave, I’ll keep it in the rotaife is good!

I just re-read that journal entry and my new phone is spastic. And auto-correct sucks. Geez ... I wasn’t even drinking when I typed that.

Proraso Red AS

The process-
Back to it and Proraso Red is back on deck. Hit it for a 30 second load time and whipped up a really nice lather. In just a quick thought, I am digging the Stirling boar more than the Semogue. Maybe it needs a cleaning or something. It's not as soft and doesn't lather as nicely as the Stirling. The Sterling is more similar to the Zenith boar. Anyway, it was a nice lather and took care of business. I did discover that I had some irritation from yesterday, that I didn't notice until this morning. I found it before my shave and I was trying not to make it worse.

40 laps on leather for the J Allen and it was go time. Went with the standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG and have no drama to report. Nice ... very nice. I really like the edge on this razor, it is buttery smooth. It can also deliver a consistent BBS and that is where I am at this morning. BBS for the win! Yup ... that's it right there. Wrapped everything up with splash of water and a drip dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Man ... I really dig this Sandalwood and will miss it when the tub is empty.

Home Front-
Busy week this week with high profile projects to wrap up. I just realized it's Stirling week, guess I'll have to put aside the Proraso Red for a few days. I will be in @bentheduck neck of the woods tomorrow. I have a day conference in Houston, so I will drive down and back tomorrow. I am also off for Cadre Friday! Yay me! @Joe Hackett is probably going to put a big dent in my lunch money. I watched the video of his new razor and discovered that my wife was looking over my shoulder. She was interested in the razor (she uses a Harry's now) and then she saw the Yaki and really liked that too. Thanks Rod! She has the Plumeria soap and is hooked on Stirling now, so I would imagine she will pick up a new scent or two. Anyway, we are planning on making the road trip to Arkansas on Friday to see the new shop. Given the distance, we should be rolling in around lunch time. I think that's all I have at the moment. Life is good!

Stirling Triumph AS

The process-
Early morning shave ... OMG was it early. I don’t usually see 3:00am any more ... thank goodness. Anyway, onto the Stirling theme and on deck today is Stirling Triumph. Love the scent of this combo. Hit the soap for 30 seconds and whipped up a really nice lather. I had plenty of lather for the shave / post shave and it dialed in nicely. The boar decided to shed two hairs that I know of, but I still like this brush.

I only had one eye open and it was squinting so the Gillette got the nod. Went with the standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG and have no drama to report. Very nice easy peasy shave and I am BBS for the win! I did take my time, which made me a little late leaving, but I made that up on the drive. Wrapped everything up with splash of water and a drip dry. A healthy glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! It’s my day to Triumph, so it had to be a glug. Yup ... I’m digging it. It’s going to be a great day!

Home Front-
Crap ... low 40’s this morning. I am ready for summer. Long drive to Houston this morning. But the drive to the airport, flight time, being molested by the TSA and renting a car at the destination airport takes the same amount of time. So I’ll drive. All day conference and then a drive home, so late dinner. But ... I smell good!
