Two outcomes from this shave. But let me start by telling you, that when I'm off giving trainings, it's about being a highly reliable organization. And part of that is errors occurring in high risk situations when there are high risk actions like someone rationalizing they can skip a process that's part of error-prevention. Those that follow regularly know that I have a spot below my eyes where there is a quick change of angle as it curves down to my cheeks. And I need to pay lost attention there to not create the cheek shaving angle too soon. And often I tell myself there's little reason for shaving that high every day and especially so when I'm using something that's built to kill me. All this of course leads to me deciding today that while being distracted with a new razor to go ahead and start up high and immediately cutting myself good. I wouldn't blame that one on the razor.
The razor is very light of course. Which leads it to being held a little more firmly than any other razor so it doesn't just flop around. I think this tighter grip led to less dexterity and boom. I got a chunk out of my upper facial region as well as another zap below it. I think the first one might have snagged a little cut that didn't result in blood from the Black Knight. More blood than I've ever had in a shave. I spent a lot of time after the shave trying to stop it, still delt with it in the car a bit, and then some clean up at work. I think it's finally good now. Although I'll have visual reminders of this shave for some time.
The shape of the razor is spot on I believe. It has a sleeve that slides over the end to hold the blade in place very well. And this one does have a taper down to the blade so the correct angle can be used. There are 4 holes along the length were you pin the thing together with little piece of filament. This is a design flaw I believe. It uses 1/2 DE blades, so once the blade is in place, I think the little pins will have to be pushed out to open it and change the blade. Too much hassle. I think I'll see how it is with just the back pin in place so it can pivot open and the sleeve holding the head closed. I will return to this one as I believe lack of concentration led to the blood. BUT, there is such a thing as too light.
