Made it through the weekend. The biggest deal and huge win, was fixing the vent from the microwave. It gets windy often where we live and ever since we moved back in with the new kitchen, we could hear the flapper on the vent banging away when the wind was just right. When we first noticed it, I mentioned it to the contractor who just said we would need to contact the manufacturer and he's never had that problem before. So live with it we did. Long story cut off halfway through, it's a cheap a&& aluminum door that bangs again a cheap a&& aluminum box so the whole thing is sound box. I ended up taping a rare earth magnet (for its density) to the door and it's just the right weight to keep it shut until the blower turns on and then there's more of a soft thud to it now. Also sanded and painted a large return vent, that I kind of half-a&&ed and it will eventually need to be replaced. Then my FIL asked if I had a nail gun and could I tack down a loose trim strip on his roof. So we went to look. He's got a three story house and it's a thin piece of trim three stories up under an overhang. So we'll see. He has an old aluminum extension ladder. I told him we'll get our fiberglass one over there next week, but my nail gun is pneumatic so I'll also need a longer hose for that. And then hope I can even get up and reach behind me to get it in place.

In other news, haven't been sleeping that well and I wake up with a sore kidney. So Sunday, despite it finally being warm and sunny, I told my wife I don't feel like leaving the house and just watching movies. Less than an hour later my wife got suckered into a BBQ at the youngest's boyfriend's family house an hour away. And they went to do their nails first. So house to myself. I watched The Platform 2. I watch almost no horror but I had seen the first movie so was curious and no way would I watch this when my wife is around. That wasn't really worth it. Then I saw Fast Charlie, that was a good movie. Then finished up with Expendables 4 which is not ashamed to be a stupid action movie. Lame plot, bad special effects, bad script, huge leaps outside of reality. Perfect.

Seriously, sounds like yout FIL doesn't like you much and MAY want you gone.
Should have watched final destination.
