I'm home today so I can accompany the youngest to USF for a college tour and meeting with the admissions counselor. She's been accepted, but waiting for the UC system to release their acceptances. She said if in a miracle she's accepted to UCLA to Berkeley, she'll go there, otherwise it's USF. We weren't totally sold that the decision wasn't at least somewhat based on her not being far from her boyfriend, but at this point she's put in the work and got several scholarships, so good enough.

Yesterday we had Drinks & Daves were I talked about buying a new Tesla Model 3 and just the leaps in technology from my old Model S. I told a story were I was close to buying a Jaguar Type F, if not for the poor service by the place we went to test drive. I shared a lot about the self driving and just how amazing it really is. I literally have been in physical control of the car for less than a mile still with all the other driving being autopilot. That was a major reason I was sold on the 3.

I did forget to share about one of the other major reasons. I really struggled in thinking about going back to a gas car. In the end, thinking about all the additional parts that at some point could fail with a gas car, from this side of gas/electric it just feels like a rolling complexity with future repair bills. Even though my S had items that needed to be fix after 11 years, none of them effected the actual driving of the car, I never needed brake service, no oil changes, no maintenance what so ever. I get everyone isn't sold on electric yet. I figure many of them haven't actually driven one, or maybe driven one with minimal power. But it also isn't a car for people that don't like change and will throw out circumstances that happen rarely to most people that would cause an issue. But hey, even if we get a freak rainstorm and the self driving doesn't work because of low visibility, I can still drive my car, verbally tell it my butt is cold to turn on the seat heaters, and have the accent lights flash to the music. It's a pretty sweet ride.

You know how some will not buy Ford or GM? I’m that way with Tesla.

For where you live and your situation, I think you are going to enjoy the heck out of that 3. We enjoyed the one we rented in Myrtle beach. (Thanks for taking my pitiful plea for support) that one was also a single motor one and it ran like a scalded dog!
Enjoy!

If you remember how to....
I actually thought about this, but not for me. Just like we're the generation that bridged the time between no internet and computers to them being fully integrated in every day. There is very soon going to be a group of kids that start driving with cars that for the most part can drive themselves but not 100% and then they will be poorly skilled when they need to take over. But then the next group will grow up without steering wheels at all.

I look forward to that day....I'm gonna go tearing down the road in my '68 Mustang and terrify these kids.

First, I'm just spending this morning trying to get over being disappointed by @MarkB, but as Celine Dion sings, my heart will go on. It was good I went on the college tour Wednesday, as I'm not sold that school is worth the price it comes with. She might still go there, but it's more of a conversation now that it was. But I was able to score an alumi sweatshirt on clearance (yes, I went there but all remote learning and for grad school). The car did great navigating itself through traffic and even side stepped some major roads to avoid traffic. After I write this, I think I'll go wash my arms off. I just grabbed another scent sample to use out of my drawer today. I'll wear almost anything, I don't care how it's labeled, but this one is so floral "I just can't" as the kids said 3 years ago.

Each Heure de Parfum is the expression of the Cartier fragrance style
The world stirred, preparing its early morning with freshness and joy…washed. That first gleam of light that caressed the eyelashes was soft peony notes, we could have bathed in the clear fountain for its transparency, for its sheer blossoming of life ROSE. Mouth, neck and shoulders, it mingled with the air naturally, untamed and fresh lychee notes, like a smile that still recalls the child. Everything seemed new and bright at the floral source of the silver thread AMBER WOOD of this shining HEURE DIAPHANE whose exquisite reflections dissolved everything, wrapping ionones in a cloud of pure emotion.

I did try to watch Big Trouble in Little China again and just couldn't do it. I got maybe halfway and gave up again. Anything supernatural doesn't hold my interest at all and actually dissuades me from watching.

One of the projects that got put on the house list was repainting the front door as there was exposed wood in a few spots. My wife announced that she didn't just repainted the same colour so I've been waiting for a new colour to be picked out. When I brought this up again Friday with a request for that selection to be made this weekend, I was told the old colour is just fine. 🤔 Sooo, that became my weekend project. Take the door down, sand and prime it then put it back up. Take it down the next day, paint with two coats. It needs more, but I think at this point I can paint what needs to be painted without removal again. The other task I undertook was arranging my shave soaps etc. I've been wanting to organize so those soaps with matching aftershaves are in the same location so I can actually find both. Well, it seems there has to be another box with at least aftershaves hanging out somewhere in the garage. I there AS I know I have that aren't anywhere to be found. I organized what was there and at least can start to use some of the stuff again.
