The Essence is sooo much smoother than that shavette. I was like switching to shaving with a DE. Yesterday on the ATG pass I felt the corner of the blade slide under the skin. Much like with any master swordsman, there was no pain, just a pause in the earth's rotation while you wait to determine the damage. There was no red until the end of the pass, so it wasn't that bad. And it actually stopped with just the usual post-shave routine. I also converted Sam's laundry day from metric to emperial and got Friday morning. So there I was, 6:30am starting a load of laundry today. Thanks Sam!

The kitchen has also come to a frustrating pause. The electrician was supposed to be out yesterday to finish off the outlets and switches since the tile is done. Got an email from the contractor that the supply house didn't have a couple of things they needed and it takes 3 days for delivery. So, he'll be out Monday. I'm done with holding off on unpacking many boxes that have pretty much stopped the completion of the move. I've been waiting because it would make sense to not have drawers and cabinets full of stuff when they are making adjustments and drilling holes for handles. But I figure at least the cabinets I can fill mostly with stuff as that wouldn't change adjusting the doors.

I wondered if B Dave felt a little angina Friday around 4:15 as though his voodoo doll was stuck with a pin. I was weeks late for a haircut. The guy I have gone to doesn't take appointments so I would just show up before he technically opened on Saturday morning and hope that he was there, and that he hadn't opened up even early and already had a line. I had a lot of house projects so decided I wasn't going to mess around with that and just get my haircut on the way home from work on Friday. There is a little house I pass by that most of it had been turned into an insurance office, but the front living room was a separate little barber shop. I remember reading some time ago that the old guy (it sounded like he was even older than Dave) didn't really take new clients or walk-ins but I thought I'd give it a shot. I noticed it was closed on Thursday when I drove by and then Friday as well. I stopped anyway to look for any information as the place wasn't even listed on Google maps. Nope, no name of the shop outside, no hours, no phone number. Next up was a barber shop sign a block away again in a weird little group of offices all the rest insurance or pseuomedicine. This one was a surprise. From the outside it looked like it could only be a tiny place, but it opened up into a pretty large shop with 5-6 chairs and the styling of a cool barber shop. "Have an appointment?" "Nope" "We have some time tomorrow" "Well, thank you anyway". Off to Supercuts it is. Like walking into a nail salon where the three cutters were talking among themselves in a foreign language. I got in fairly quick. Told them 3 on the sides and scissor top just nice a quick. Meaning, it's a simple cut and I don't need anything fancy. Well, nice and quick it was. Maybe 10min max from the time I sat in the chair. I know he took a few clips with the scissors, but I don't think he removed much from the top. This is exactly what I need. As little time in the chair as possible with my neck and sides taken care of. If I want it shorter on the top I can take care of that with clippers at home.

You found a cool barbershop but passed it up because they didn't have time for you???? Dude....go back and get a proper haircut from them.

Do we have to get Stefan out of the construction management business to work this one out for you?

Bougie is as Bougie does. Now I have to do a show with that haircut..... Scary!

Well, since they take appointments, it might be my new go to place in the future.

Finally talked to the contractor. He's coming tomorrow and should be all finished by Wednesday at the latest. This after a 20min phone call with some stressful sections and a reminder about how much he's saving me.

I guess things are moving along, but not at a rocket pace. The electrician showed up today and finished off his stuff which took all of an hour or so. I think it's all just down to the main contractor who spend a couple hours and came up with reasons he couldn't finish things. I have to hang around and meet him in the morning to confirm some decisions. I guess there's still a chance this will be done this week.
