It was with trepidation I approached this shave. I dug around in my drawer for something different to use and came across this Vector knock-off with a blade loaded up. I don't have a journal tag for this razor, so I couldn't go back and see how many shaves the blade had on it. It seems it had plenty. Very uncomfortable, tuggy shave. I thought maybe a little slicker lather would help a bit so I added a touch of water. The poor ole Wilkie lather couldn't take it and just broke down like the A/C in a '65 VW Bettle. Loose lather was slopping all over the place. This is when the mad skillz of a professional shaver kick in. in 99 out of 100 shaves, they are not needed. But at times like this, it separates the smooth from the weepered.

In other news, we now have a cruise booked for May. My wife has been vocal for quite a while about wanting to schedule a cruise on a particular ship this year. My response has always been that we have plenty of vacations planned this year. Just recently she mentioned "Jonesing for a cruise" in more general terms. She's also been in pain daily while still dealing with recovery. So I told her to look for something out of San Diego because these tend to be shorter and we save on airfare. Well, yesterday within an hour we went from her asking what my schedule looked like to having a cruise booked, paid for, and events scheduled. So there it is.

I feel like you are mocking me with this question. As the master of all that is scentless, I have you assume you already know the answer.
I’m not mocking. I have no idea whether Still Lake or Choppy Lake come in a scentless version. Now I’m upset. I just may have to write you a stern letter, mister! 🥺

Ahhhh back to the land of lovely shaves. I wish replaceable blade Kamisoris were more popular. I'd love to get one with a nice hardwood handle or something. Either I like shaving with these more than the foldable handle shavettes or just having the variety is nice.

Ever since the holidays I've had this weird thing happening where every few days it feels like I'm coming down with something and then the next day everything is fine. A little congestion one time then all cleared up. Scratchy throat, then all cleared up. Light-headed and I'm sure I'll be out of commission the next day, then nothing. This is getting a little old. I'm ready for something to be full-blown for a few days and just get it over with.

I'm back! Was out of the office yesterday to teach a class about high-reliability organizations at another hospital. For normally being super anti-social, I really enjoy getting in front of a crowd to present. My boss told me the feedback was so positive, that she's having me do the same teaching at a regional thing scheduled for a few months. We'll see if it stays scheduled, but that would be cool.

Too much to do today. I'm tired. BUT another Cobb salad lunch. So that should make Steven pleased along with myself. Yesterday, my wife was in the kitchen I heard a surprise and her jumping back from the can of coffee she was opening. It looked like something had gotten into her eye. That's a little odd since we buy whole bean. She said, "look at all this stuff all over the counter". Sure enough, from a little opening in the pop-top, a fine dusting of coffee grounds had shot out and laid all over the counter. That didn't make sense so I checked. Yep, guess who had ordered ground coffee. We don't use ground coffee for nuttin' So now we have 6 cans of Illy ground coffee. It looks like an espresso grind, but I guess I'll see how it works out in an aeropress.
