Nurse Dave's Journal

I always admired yours and this one appeared at the auction house. Then AliExpress to replace the band. Surprised that nobody would bid so I did. I think because it had a nasty band and it wasn’t running was it. I was going to puta new movement in if a battery didn’t fix it.

I tried to show Gear how to take off MLK Day yesterday. I did try. Young kid wasn't paying attention. I do feel his pain. This is only the 1st or 2nd year we've had it off. Historically it wasn't a day off but the company encouraged people to take of day of PTO to volunteer in the community and had sign-ups for opportunities. I volunteered to watch hawks circling from our deck. Appears I was the only one to sign up for that. You know, I don't mind when the weather gets cooler, other than thinking of $20 bills going up in flames every time the furnace goes on. To don't like the dry though. My skin is at a beautiful equilibrium most of the time. Then I start feeling the tingling in the lips that signals for me trying to remember to apply moisture protection when I'm in the vicinity of one of the two Burts Bees sticks I own. But I always forget that. Then there's the warm and uncomfortable feeling like there's constantly something stuck in your nose. There isn't, but it makes you keep checking and wondering if there's nothing there why does it feel like the inner layer of skin is constantly being stretched and needs a nice layer of Vaseline even though I never use the stuff. Then the hands start getting dry and again, I'm not blessed with the social approval of carrying a bag of support items with me at all times. Plus, I get my hand lotion from places such as Pre de Provence and Penhaligon's so it likely would clash with whatever scent I'm wearing. So I sit with my hands in fists hoping enough sweat will be produced to rid the surface of the dry feeling with reduced grip (calm down, Dave). I mean, these constant paper cuts of irritation should be limited to trips to Vegas where you know they are time-limited and you can drown your sorrows in free well drinks.

How magnanimous of them to encourage that not on their dime 😂

I feel like this is an empty excuse. You could easily be accepted, being a nurse, carrying a “field aid kit” around with you 😂

Sir, my wife is trapping in our car that just hit a tree. Can you help????

Well, let me look. I have mints, hand lotion. Oh, that is good because it's starting to get dry! Gum, an extra set of cuff links, a dead watch battery....

Dave, did you learn nothing in your MSN program?! You ought to be able to “MacGyver” a jaws of life with what you carry. Think, man, think! ;)

I think we took different programs. I learned to form a multidisciplinary team of functional experts and "doers" to handle my light work.
The “doers” need your expertise, do they not? Just wondering. I guess nursing is different in your neck of the woods…
