Well, here we are. Back at a keyboard. Even with all the stuff that had to be done over the last week, the mornings not being driven by a clock was amazing. Having all the family together was great and I think everyone enjoyed it. The big dinner went well with everyone getting a long and good food. My sister and BIL had some kind of colds or something when they arrived. Which I carried the torch of for the rest of the week and now my wife had it. No biggie compared to past years though. A bunch of us went to the aquarium in the city which I had never been to. It was fairly small and full of kids who were locked out of their schools for the holiday apparently. But it had two of those big tubes you walk through with the aquarium around them which I like. And another day took my sis' family down to the bay front by the airport with a bird guide for them to spot stuff they don't have up in Oregon. Then wound the whole thing up with a three-day weekend with no extra family at home which was the way to do it. Other than Gear ending 2023 with not gracing us with his presence, things were pretty good.

Threw another razor in the PIF box today. Going to be a big one! The rains have stopped here, but it's chilly for this area and still getting dark early of course. So my wife looks at me with even stronger eye rolls when I go out into the cold and dark to have a cigar at the end of the day. And I do need to get my propane tank refilled this weekend for the fire pit. It is the time of year though that it gets a lot of leaves in it so I get to enjoy that smoky smell when I first fire it up.

Bougie....sexy....and, apparently lazy. Clean out your fire pit or you'll light all of Millbrae on fire.

Oh heck no. I'm considering getting a container to store leaves so I can toss a handful in from time to time. The smell is glorious. Unscented firepits are just so....common. 🧐

BREAKING NEWS!

A mountain side near the San Francisco airport was on fire this afternoon. Latest estimates put the blaze at 100 acres

Initial reports provided and were believed to be a gas main. However after further investigation, it was determined that a Milbrae resident was tossing dry leaves into a gas fire pit. A CHP BOLO was issued for a white Tesla and a white male with charring on his face and the smell of Burnt hair, Scotch , and wet Cigars

I forgot to put it on

Two very sad disappointments yesterday. First I decided to swing around the front of the hospital and get a pupusa for lunch at the Farmer's Market. Well, the market is on Wednesdays and it happened to be Thursday. Sadness set in then. And then later in the evening I was watching a watch YouTube and saw one I fell in love with. I've been resisting buying any for quite a while, but this was pretty unique. I got to where I thought I might just pick it up and decided to watch a few reviews of it before putting it in my cart. Well, I was a bit shocked when I realized I had read the price wrong and it was 10x what I thought it was. Again sadness, but also luckily I didn't just throw it in my cart and hit Apple checkout!

Video posted, yo.

Well, the honeymoon ends. The boss is back from vacation and meetings start up again this week. And the new manager of the cafeteria jacked up the price of the biscuits and gravy. The last one is okay because no surprise I got a new monitor on and two biscuits is over my limit. So I'll cut back to one and two eggs and see what that does and what the price is. Got all the Christmas stuff boxed up with the exception of the lights on a big tree outside. I need to get the extendable pruning stick out to slowly untangle those from the branches. Then it's Tetris with the boxes in storage to get things cleaned up until next year.

Boy, I sure did get an amazing ice ring smooth shave with the shavette this morning. Ain't nothing like the results from a naked blade if you can avoid scraping a little too close.
