So this morning I wake up still dealing with jet lag and a cat sleeping on me. My body sore as I walk to the kitchen to make coffee to ease into the day before shaving. And my thought is missing what might be the perfect morning for me. Now, very few things we would call perfect. But I'm talking the brief moment where all the cards fall into place and you wouldn't have changed a thing. Like after that one shave where you are perfectly smooth, the lather was creamy and didn't drip on your shirt, there was no alum sting, and the scent you chose hit just right for that day.

My morning that happened last week was waking up on a sea day after sleeping on the most comfortable mattress ever and the most comfortable pillows ever. I pulled on a swimsuit and t-shirt and headed up one deck above us to the adult cafe were 3 baristas were waiting to make whatever your pleasure. I ordered a sugar-free vanilla latte with almond milk. I had a nice chat with the crew until my brew was ready. Then headed out maybe 30 feet to their adult hot tub where I soaked watching the Norwegian Sea not even knowing what day it was. Then after a good soak, got out to towels waiting, dried off, grabbed a blanket and chilled on a huge round lounger while I finished my coffee. Man, I think I could do that every morning and not get tired of it.

Soapwort is a weed that contains saponins that can be extracted from the roots to make a very gentle cleansing solution that is still used to clean delicate fabrics. Interestingly, it is not named after soap. Rather, the Latin word for soap comes from the Latin word for soapwort, Saponaria. Don't eat it. That's all I know about soapwort.
