Noise from Jeff's Garage

It's a good reminder. I'm a Bowers & Wilkins man myself, but rarely even turn on the speakers. Most of my music listening is done via earbuds and earphones. but I should think of cranking them up on the occasions I'm home alone.

I have decent headphones and buds but they rarely make an appearance unless I'm traveling. Just find speakers more satisfying. Revel , Technics, JBL, Kali, Infinity scattered about.

Alpha Claymore finally sorted to accept Proline blades, and the diminutive Mark Cross. Alpha is a fine shaver, especially on the beard, but the Mark Cross is so much easier on the dome and with detail work.

I have some Proguard blades in transit at Steve's suggestion but I gotta say the Prolines feel just right here. I might try a lighter handle for my head shave but overall quite pleased with the razor, favorite of the AC razors I've used (Vector I haven't).

Proguards are ok, but I‘ve always liked Prolines as well until I transitioned to Feather Supers. That is a blade that demands good technique! If you’re interested in giving them a try, send me a PM with your details and I’ll get a few off and sent your way! Haven’t shaved with a Claymore. My two favorite AC safety razors are the Vector and the General. I got rid of all the others. Those two check all the boxes for me!

Thanks Jeff, I've got some Supers but yet to try in the Claymore yet. When the first wave of AC razors came out I had the first General and it was a favorite among the AC razors I had before I decided to let them all go.

Feather Super I find too aggressive in other razors but it's my favorite in the Claymore.

------

I'm leaning toward keeping the Technics speakers and selling the Revels. Measured FR and room correction below 200hz shown. My Anthem mic isn't very reliable over 5khz so I applied a little additional correction via my DAC to reduce some peaking in the 8-10khz range Stereopjhile measured.

Winter is approaching, five days of su freezing temps forecast, more leaf raking in my future.

1. All the audiophile stuff went over my head 😆- but I do know what a DAC is so I should get some points for that 😀

2. Great shave! and have you ever gotten the the bottom of a MdC bowl? That seems like it would take forever!

Points awarded. Bottom line is that both the Technics and Revels measure as accurate speakers, Revels a bit more polite, Technics a bit more high end zip.

No I've not yet seen bottom of a brain bowl but hope to live long enough. I'm guessing a year of daily shaves as I got about 9 months from a regular jar.
