Mitchell's Wool Fat.

Worst soap I've ever used. I tried all the tricks and tips everyone suggested. Used up the entire puck trying and never got good lather from it.

But, that's just my opinion, I know there's lots of love for it.
I used up three cakes of it before it started to work for me. It was more than worth the effort and expense. I imagine most of us have one thing that we don't like, that everyone else loves. For me it's badger brushes. I much prefer boars.

MWF is a soap that people love or hate. I was OK, take it or leave it. Then I learned to grate MWF & Haslinger Schafmilch together into a tub, & presto! It's a new soap that has the best properties of both soaps. That's what I use now & it lathers like a charm!
I found that grating MWF makes it an easier lather, but I'm too lazy to do it. I chop mine into dice size pieces, and make a double boiler by putting my soap bowl into a pot of gently boiling water. After 15 minutes, I mash the pieces flat in the bowl.
