Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm featuring a live cut from the late, great Jeff Beck with Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. Hope you enjoy.


Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Stirling Soap Co. and their excellent Rive Gauche homage, "Seine Reserve" shave soap. Fantastic scent with a phenomenal lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, Fine Accoutrements "American Blend" aftershave lotion & Yves Saint Laurent "Rive Gauche" EdT. Fantastic shave all around. Literally zero feedback from the alum.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Back in the office today. Feeling better. Not 100% but much improved.

Going with one from English rockers, Sleep Token this morning. Hope you enjoy.


Another phenomenal shave this morning easily beating out yesterday's! Returned to Floris London and the "Elite" line of grooming products. Fantastic green, soapy barbershop scent with a phenomenal lather built with the new @pipingtenor2570 synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by the matching aftershave balm & EdT. Again, zero feedback from the alum. "Best Shave of the Month" candidate this morning.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Still slowly improving. A (relatively) warm and rainy day on tap. I think I well past being contagious but out of an abundance of caution, I cancelled band practice tonight.

Returning to Sleep Token this morning. It's taken me a while to appreciate the new album but it has rapidly become a favorite. LOVE that drop @ 4:19 in this song! The lyrics are fire as well! Hope you enjoy.


Fantastic shave with which to close out the workweek! Returned to Ariana & Evans and their excellent "Peach & Cognac" shave soap and splash. Phenomenal scent! A delicious woody, spicy boozy peach with a phenomenal lather built with the Semogue boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash & Tom Ford Tom Ford for Men EdT. Again, zero feedback from the alum.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: A nice stretch of warm weather on the way after some storms last night. Mid and upper 70's for the next ten days!

Beck was just in a category all by himself. He's not even my all time fave...but it's hard to argue anyone was a better player. And he certainly surrounded himself with monstrous players! Wilkenfeld is amazing...and Vinnie is astonishing.

Fantastic shave this morning! Returned to Macduff's Soap Co. and their excellent "Royal Earl Grey" shave soap and splash. It's been a long time since I last used it and I had forgotten how nice it is. Phenomenal scent and an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the WWBW synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash & Viktor & Rolf "Spicebomb" EdT. Again, zero feedback from the alum.

Another phenomenal shave this morning! New soap day with the arrival yesterday of "Lavender Suprême" shave soap and splash from ETHOS Grooming Essentials. Wonderfully soothing true-lavender scent and an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Sorrentino Brushworks synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching skin food splash & Czech & Speake "Oxford & Cambridge" EdC. Again, zero feedback from the alum.

Incredible shave with which to kick off the workweek! Returned to my vintage Shulton "Old Spice" suite of products. Classic "Old School" scent with a phenomenal lather built with the Semogue SOC boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave lotion, talc, & EdC. Again, zero feedback from the alum.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with a classic from American singer songwriter, Kim Carnes. Hope you enjoy.


Wonderful shave this morning! Flirting with record high temps for the next several days, so I'll be going with heat-friendly selections. Today I returned to my Valobra era TAOS unscented shave soap. Just incredible lather built with the Riva badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Dior "Eau Sauvage" aftershave balm and EdT. Again, zero feedback from the alum.

Going with one from Pink Floyd off their 1987 album, A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Hope you enjoy.


Wonderful shave this morning! Today I decided on a humble Williams shave. No detectable scent, just incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, Williams Aqua Velva aftershave splash and Creed "Himalaya" EdP. Some minor feedback from the alum on my neck from a little too much pressure. Other than that, perfection!

Wonderful shave with which to close out the workweek! Returned to RazoRock and their excellent AdP homage, "Gold Label" shave soap. Excellent scent with a super thick and slick lather built with the Simpson badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Acqua di Parma Colonia aftershave balm and EdC.
