Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

I know today is traditionally "Women of Rock Wednesday" but this is my journal I'll post whatever music I like (yes, I'm looking at you, @GearNoir)! Today I'm in a Sleep Token mood so here's a couple of cuts off their 2023 album, Take Me Back to Eden. Hope you enjoy.



Another incredible shave this morning! Returned to Furbo and their excellent "Furbo Blu" shave soap. For whatever reason I don't see this soap pop up much on message boards. That's a shame as this soap produces some of the thickest, slickest lather I've ever used. Great Floid Blue scent with incredible lather built with the Stirling Soap Co. synth for three passes with the '58 Gillette Super Speed TV Special and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, RazoRock "Blue Barbershop" aftershave lotion, and Guy Laroche "Drakkar Noir" EdT. Just to add, the RazoRock splash is the closest splash I've found to the original Floid Blue splash scent wise.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple of classics from John Cougar Mellencamp today. Hope you enjoy.



Getting in the "Independence Day" spirit with an all-American shave, featuring items from the J.B. Williams Company. Started off with preshave soap from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements (for some fragrance as the puck has lost any it may have had) and vintage Williams shave soap with its incredibly slick lather built with the L.J. NYC synth brush. Three passes with the Fatboy followed by alum, Thayers unscented witch hazel, vintage Williams "Aqua Velva" aftershave lotion (in the 1976 "200th Bicentennial" commemorative bottle) and Williams talc. Finished off with "Sacré Bleu" EdP from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not the best night's sleep. Kinda dragging today. Coffee and a great shave are helping.

Another all-American shave, this time going with the Old School goodness of Shulton Old Spice. Fantastic scent and lather built with the Wild West Brushworks synth for three passes with the Fatboy followed by alum, Thayers unscented witch hazel, vintage Shulton "Old Spice" aftershave lotion, talc and finishing up with a generous dose of the EdC.

Fantastic shave this morning. Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's wonderful "Tortola" shave soap and splash. Fantastic scent and lather built with the Paladin "Chief" 2-Band badger brush for three passes with the Gillette Super Speed followed by alum, Quinn's Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, the matching skin food splash, Pecksniff's Grapefruit and Citron talc and Murray and Lanman "Florida Water".

Kicking off the workweek with a couple from the legendary Robert Plant off his second solo album The Principle of Moments. Hope you enjoy.



Incredible shave this morning. Returned to my Floris No.89 ensemble of soap, splash, talc and EdT. Fantastic scent and lather built with the Shavemac 167 synth for three passes with the Gillette Super Speed ending with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, followed by the matching splash, talc & EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: YIKES! Nearly 80° already! Gonna feel like 100° plus.!

Going with a couple this morning from Canadian Dark Wave band, The Birthday Massacre. Hope you enjoy.



Wonderful shave this morning! New soap day with yesterday's arrival of "The Daiquiri Shack - Citrus Freeze" from @thecajunblade. This soap blew me away! Fantastic scent and phenomenal lather built (almost effortlessly) with the Sorrentino Brushworks "Orange Crush" synth for three passes with the Gillette Red Tip, finishing up with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, followed by Clubman "Tequila Tease" aftershave lotion (with some ETHOS Ice Dragon drops added), Pecksniff's "Grapefruit and Citron" talc & Acqua Di Parma "Colonia" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Another hot and humid day in the south.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm revisiting guitarist, Lari Basilio. Hope you enjoy.



Great shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Avon ensemble with soap, splash, aftershave, talc & EdC. Started off with preshave soap (for some fragrance) from PAA, then some phenomenal lather built built with the Stirling synth. This soap is like vintage Williams (and others) in that the more water you add, the slicker and slicker the lather gets. Three passes with the Gillette Super 109 and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, followed by Avon "Spicy" aftershave lotion (with some ETHOS Ice Dragon drops added), Avon talc & Avon "Brisk Spice" EdC.

Going with a couple today from British pop group, The Blow Monkeys. Hope you enjoy.



Best shave of the week contender today! Perhaps not the most visually interesting SOTD pic, but the quality of the items used and results they provided more than make up for it. Returned to Martin de Candre and their excellent "Agrumes" shave soap. Wonderful scent and lather built built with the Paladin 2-Band badger brush for three passes with the Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, followed by ETHOS Grooming Essentials "Sicilian Lemon EO" skin food splash, Pecksniff's "Grapefruit and Citron talc & Acqua di Parma "Colonia" EdC.
