I get the day off today. Hurray! Still up at a reasonable hour, to go start the new year off with an OT workout! Should be a chill day otherwise though.

Weather today should be mostly cloudy with some sun peeking out here n there. More light rains predicted over the next few days.

A nice sleep in. Normally we’d be doing a training run but it’s windy and rainy right now. While some might do it anyway…I ain’t that guy just yet. If it clears any later, maybe I’ll do something.

Otherwise chores today and some game time.

Chris, kudos for all the open blade shaves. Do you also use DE or SE razors?

I occasionally use a Parker SRX shavette, but it is not my daily driver. Using a shavette for an extended period of time, however, helped me improve my shaves and gave me the confidence to use any razor.

About the only razor types I really don’t use with any regularity, or really at all I guess, are GEM/DE type SEs, DE blade shavettes, and traditional SRs.

Pretty much everything else I use at least once in a while - DEs in open comb or solid bar, AC style SEs, injectors, replaceable blade SRs, etc.

Glad you’ve found success with the Parker shavette! I do enjoy open blade shaves, though to achieve my current numbers (which still pale in comps to some here) it’s been as much about the discipline of using one regularly as it has been the enjoyment. I try to use one for a long streak of shaves, then take a break and shave with something else. I will say that for effort and concentration needed, everything else seems supremely easy compared to AC open blade shaves.

Ugh…a real Monday, not one of those holiday week ones.

In other news…yesterday’s football games cemented me into a weird out 5th place overall for our fantasy football season. While yesterday’s crazy last 6 minutes of the Ravens vs Steelers game took the missus from a wild 1% chance of winning to clinching the league championship win. Crazy!

Good OT workout last night.

Cloudy and cold day today before it looks like we’ve had move back towards sunny and cool weather. Fingers crossed our recent rains negate the seriousness of the next fire season.

FTR Chris, it’s Steelers vs. Ravens, never vice versa. Congratulations to your very astute wife for banking on the Steelers’ greatness. Please give her a fist bump from me. Am I correct in assuming you did not? Come to Pittsburgh next time you’re in western Pennsylvania for some remedial training and therapy. I’ll bring you to the Franco Harris Sports Museum. And if you fly in, of course you’ll need to stop and pay homage to the Franco statue at the airport.
