If you have to do something...

Shave #205 (328 Open Blade Shaves) of 2019:

Gear: Feather AC SS shavette, Feather blade, Schick M Adjustable, Schick blade, RR Big Bruce brush, SS Citrus & Bay soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, and Bootlegger’s Bay Rum AS to finish!

Really nice shave today and I get to go in early!

Finally finished rewatching Stranger Things season 2 last night, so the missus is all caught up and we can move on to the new season...so exciting!

Great shave this morning. Between the Feather, Weck, GC, and this Schick, I am getting some bangin shaves!

Yesterday finished up OK, but it was a bit of a mess before that. Lots of attitude issues with the kids this last week, having to deal with them complaining and being at each others throats half the day, every day...ugh. I never grew up with siblings, but I guess it’s all normal?

Then I finally had my meeting yesterday with the Jr High search team lead. I ended up not being one of the final candidates under consideration. Ultimately there was a candidate they felt was a little better fitting for what they wished to have and also they felt that, for my personal goals of being a pastor (which they fully are on board with) they felt this would be a misstep for me and distract me from that. To some extent I get it, but to another extent, it (with some of the other reasons and comments made) was some silly reasoning, but that is that. I know many of the people on the search team and know that they were not trying to write me off in any way. Ultimately I know there’s a bigger purpose to not being able to move further in the process, I just have to wait and see what it is. I think that after this week’s vacation though, my career/ministry search appetite is whetted, and it’s time to make some kind of forward movement, even if it ends up drawing us away from this particular community we’ve come to love. That’s just the nature of the beast...you go where you’re needed, not necessarily where you’d like to be.

Lastly...I had to rush around and fix a big snafu on my part last night. With all the focus on my vacation week coming up, I forgot that I was supposed to request tomorrow off for my wife’s family’s reunion! Oops! Thankfully we have adequate staffing at the moment though and with a little schedule switcheroo magic, I was able to correct my oversight. So Friday is my actual Friday for once...amazing!

Thanks for reading along if you made it this far!

Happy Friday all!

Well sorry about the job news. I have to assume the bigger picture involves @The Monkey and something about ministry through shaving.

Got lucky you were able to get off work. Someone at home wouldn't have been happy!

Sorry things didn't go as planned Chris.
Yep. You never really know where your next call will be from. It will be nice when you get your own flock.

Man that bites!
Thanks for the support guys! I do appreciate it!

Ministry is an odd occupation. @GearNoir sorry things didnt open up like you hoped.

We have had to move 4 times in 24 years of
ministry.

"A man's gift makes room for him" just be faithful and the Lord will open the doors.

Nice read Chris. Capped by what I hoped would be better news today. Keep the head up.
Thanks guys. One of these days there will be progress, I’m confident of that!

Keep on keeping the faith, Chris. Most of the time, we don't see the "big picture", but it'll work out in the end.
