What exactly is a Hula Festival? I am assuming it has to do with Hula dancing. Where is it being held? Will there be any slack-key guitar? Two and a half days of it, plus evening jam sessions, and food/craft vendors!

Well I'm assuming this year we'll get video of Gear doing the hula.I am assuming it has to do with Hula dancing.

This is a competition style festival with groups from various places across the US including the Islands; sometimes we’ve even had groups from Japan. There are multiple divisions to the competition - men, women, group, kids. They are officially judged by well known hula masters and prizes for placement are given at the end of the weekend. It’s up to the groups to find the music (usually traditional Hawaiian songs of some variety), choreograph a dance, and then come to the Festival to compete. The groups dance one at a time on a stage before the audience and judges, so there’s plenty of entertainment if you’re in to the culture, dance, or music. What exactly is a Hula Festival? Yea that’ll never happen lol. My wife knows how to dance very well though. She had her own group for a while and competed for a long time when she was younger.Well I'm assuming this year we'll get video of Gear doing the hula.
Thanks Dave! Definitely worth going to if you’re into the Hawaiian culture! Fri-Sun if you happen to be passing by Sac.Paaaarty time! Sounds awesome.
That should be a great time!
Thanks guys!Have fun Chris
Given that Bronson helped advertise it, I’m pretty sure Man dom is appropriate too.Googled that aftershave. Took me a bit to find. It's Mandom, all one word I think
There's no shame. Dave called me out on Strop ShopGiven that Bronson helped advertise it, I’m pretty sure Man dom is appropriate too.
I may never see my adjustables again!Shave #198 (322 Open Blade Shaves) of 2019:
Gear: Schick Adjustable, Supply blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, JoHS Turkish Bath soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, Man Dom AS, and Pinaud Citrus Musk to finish!
Out the door soon to go help my brother-in-law get a little setup done for the Festival before I go to work. I forgot to mention yesterday, this is pretty much a family run event - my FIL and MIL, his 4 daughters and their families, plus some of the aunts, uncles, and cousins (it’s a big family). That’s one reason why their family reunion is held the weekend after the festival, everyone hangs around for a while since they’re all in the area for the event anyway.
Nice shave today. Couldn’t help myself and reached for the Schick again. Loaded up a fresh blade and it was off to la-la land for a refreshing shower n shave.
Low 90s projected for the weekend, probably some early closings Fri/Sat. Sans the running back and forth (the missus and kids pretty much stay at the festival the rest of the weekend) for work and on errands for the event, it should be a good one!
Happy Thursday all!
I know we established that your razors get used more by other people than yourself...I’d hate for you to have to break that tradition!I may never see my adjustables again!
