Back to the doctor today, about the mole. I hope that there is a result one way or another. The suspense is just wearing.
Great news! Here’s a bit of good news. I saw the rheumatologist today. After blood testing results & a thorough exam, he was able to conclude that I do NOT have RA.
Have you been tested for gout?Yes, I am relieved, though I still don't know what is causing so much pain in such an absurd spot (middle joint of my right pinky). It makes even less sense knowing I am left-handed.
The doctor did give me a cortisone shot- not fun to get, but hopefully it wlll relieve the inflammation.
Yes; also negative.Have you been tested for gout?
Still waiting on that test result. But some other good news. I saw the oncologist today. It's been nearly 5 years since my lumpectomy. No recurrence, so I can stop the meds in the summer (the actual 5 year point) and only come to see her once a year.
That’s good news. My wife is a little over 6 years now, hers is a little more complicated so her annual testing is a bit more detailed but now that she’s 6 years clear they are going every 2 years on some tests.Still waiting on that test result. But some other good news. I saw the oncologist today. It's been nearly 5 years since my lumpectomy. No recurrence, so I can stop the meds in the summer (the actual 5 year point) and only come to see her once a year.

*Phew*@dangerousdon thanks!
Here’s some more good news & an interesting way that I got it
As I mentioned, I just saw my oncologist. Updating her on all of my health issues, I mentioned the suspicious mole and the fact that I was still awaiting result. As she & the other doctor are part of the same network, she took a look at all of my files. Oddly, the test in question read “cancelled due to error”
So she looked into it herself. She just called to tell me that the test had been completed but the results hadn’t been uploaded. So I now know that the mole is benign! I do still need to get the remainder of it excised, by my plastic surgeon. The oncologist sent the info to the plastic surgeon’s office.
Now I just need to call for an appointment. The excision is a minor in-office procedure.
