Wait what? I get each of my posts reviewed by an oversight committee and voted on.
 
I tried to get detail and clarity in the last couple of edges I’ve honed using a convex set of choseras and schwedenstein on a GD66. I couldnt think of anything to get more detail than the microscope

The convexity is on par with a sphere of radius ~30’ iirc. Getting there was quite interesting, lots of videos on newtonian mirrors.
 
Interesting hone approach with the convex surface. Going as fine as .1u have you had any problems with the GD getting "chippy"?
And I agree that a good shave can be done very inexpensively. I call them my "working mans" setups.
But then I have my VIP type shaves. And many in between. Variety is nice.
