What a year. Some days wear harder on me more than others, starting out this morning, today is already one of them. I’m so happy for everyone who has been able to get vaccinated or has their appointments. Take ‘em when you can get ‘em. I wish I could get one. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wish I had any of the conditions that make me high risk, and I’m scrupulous about all of the public health measures. I just need it. A little hope would go a long way.

Hang in there...we are all getting through this. Some longer than others...but you will get there.

Remember there is Always Hope !!
 
Today marks 1 year since I spent a workday in our office downtown. I've been in the office exactly twice since then, one a year ago Saturday to grab my docking station and monitor (as I figured it would probably be a few months before we were back...funny now I suppose) and then once again about a month ago to bring back said monitor as I got one to use at home now permanently.

It's been a year of ups and downs. We were blessed with a happy and healthy baby boy which I am thankful for every day. But it's been difficult, both physically and emotionally, having his first year of life be during all of this. While no one in our immediate family has passed away from Covid, two different parents of very good friends, both of whom were in their 60s and in very good health prior to the virus, passed on. Both instances were particularly sobering in terms of how viscous the virus can be, seemingly at random.

As life slowly returns to something resembling the normal, it's hard to believe how much has changed in the last 12 months. We eagerly await our vaccines and yearn for the days when we can gather with friends and family without masks and social distancing.

Keep on keeping on, Cadre.
 
My mom is going for injection number two today. I pray she does well with it! She had absolutely no ill effects from the first one.

Now that I have the disease I have no idea when or if I'll be vaccinated.

I will say the health department has been great at keeping up with me via phone, checking in on my health status, etc....how to get ahold of resources (money even) if I were to need it.

Stay safe EVERYone!

Well I am 2 days past my shot. All I had was a sore arm. More sore than the flu shot but not as sore as the tetnus shot.

Glad that's the only symptom but Remember what I said my mom noted after hers. She said try to keep moving the arm around a lot , it seemed to help somewhat with the soreness....She started moving he arm right after they gave her the shot and she only had mild pain in the arm..

I believe this is true for all shots, or at least the flu shot too. Good nurses recommend this, along with getting it in your primary arm (to force movement).

+1 on the sentiment of low symptoms. Don't be fooled though, Chad. Everyone I've spoken with has said shot 1 is easy, but shot 2 is where you get the real symptoms. It's ranged from minor aches and tiredness (daughters boyfriend) to 3 straight days of being laid out, like a bad cold (70 something year old co-worker).

When I get my shots, I plan to clear my schedule so I can take the day after shot 2 off. [emoji106]
