My mask smells funky

we may laugh but honestly if they were brand new thats a quick no sew mask for winter...

But there are endless articles that say masks are completely useless, and potentially dangerous when you touch them in any way, and will grow bacteria from the warmth and moisture, and you're rebreathing your CO2.

Well if whiskey and beer truly keep the virus away, I am in good standing. [I make fun, but may we all be safe and lucky in this environment]

All I say are there are also endless articles and decades of medical practice that say masks are an important aspect of infection control and reduction of disease transmission. There are also people pre-COVID and currently working full shifts in masks of all types. Logically, if CO2 were building up in these folks, we’d have to hire a whole team to be picking them off the floor as they pass out. I can attest we do not have a career path related to reviving oxygen depleted staff.

“They” and “articles” written by “them” are pretty bad resources. Personal experience and observation is a lot better (even then what YOU see and what YOU believe to be true may not actually be true so keep it to yourself). Want proof? There are 1000s if people who will fight to the death to defend THEIR belief that it is a FACT that the earth is FLAT. When that issue is resolved we can talk about masks again in this forum. Until then the subject is off limits. GOT IT

Every fall I am reduced to a pile of coughing and post nasal drip, which isn’t fun but you put up with it. This year, I start freaking out that this is a symptom of covid infection. I can’t think of a way that it could be, since I hardly leave the house and am averaging 3000 steps per day. Ugh.

I know what you mean my allergies are kicking my butt too.. Whats really bad is if you do go out and sneeze or cough just once even with a mask everyone around you is like.......

I get a survey every morning form daughters new school. Answering yes to anything means no in-person school that day.
Every day a minefield of trying to balance truth and truthiness.

Does your child have fever (no), cough (no), fatigue (no, but yes every bloody day), loss of smell/taste (no/no), sneezing (yes, but it's allergies, so hopefully no, the Claritin will kick in by the time she gets to school)

I have to do the same thing for my daughter every blessed day, even the ones when she is remote (hybrid model). I get it. I really do, but it kind of forces you to make a judgment call. I KNOW this is allergies, so I don’t want to report a new possible symptom for that very reason. I took an allergy pill and it went away. So there, I was right.

Wondering whether to take in laws back out their care home. Two visits inside (for the first time since March, woo!) over the weekend and kind of appalled at lack of mask wearing. To be understood with those who are past knowing, but many others of a less advanced age should know better, and so should the staff.

As we reach our way to a 3rd peak, stay safe and stay well y'all.
