Your entire state looks like my county @CVargo. My county is geographically HUGE (as big or bigger than several different states) but our population of 2mil or so is mostly concentrated into a corner. We began reporting “recovered” cases when most other locations did the same, according to the current-recovered our active case load tends to run around 9k plus or minus depending of whether we are seeing a surge or decline in cases. I’m not sure how, but I am thinking that the ‘active’ case count is useful to know, if nothing else it brings that BIG number down to a number that doesn’t seem unbelievable or inflated. I would share my county’s website but I don’t know if it matters to anyone outside the county itself.

...and you make a good point about Facebook and/Twitter being the better place to express opinions about origin, validity and the potential political twists and turns.

Yes if you click on the link I provided you will see our presumed recovered as well. They assume anyone 3 weeks after positive and not dead as cured. That number is at 85% cured.

Was reading an article today and read something that I hadn't seen before. Maine is reporting numbers based on residency and not location. This means that a student is in...let's say...NY at college or if someone is part time resident in Fl. and they become sick or dies with covid they are added into the Maine numbers if their residence is listed as Maine.

I'm 52, diabetic, and overweight, so I'm high risk for this disease. So I quit my job, which was a placeholder while I update my IT skills anyway. Now I'm getting a computer sufficient to support a work from home tech support job, of which there are thousands. I feel like I have to lay low in the hopes of a vaccine. Crazy times.

Predictably cases are on their way back up here, and mostly in the capital area where we are. People aren't taking it seriously here, masks are still a very rare site, even though they seem to be readily available here now.

I'm 62, overweight, with heart issues, and I'm gonna be just fine.

Find something to occupy your mind and hands if you're stuck sitting around the house, panic and fear will kill ya!

I'd love to know how you know you're going to be just fine. If you don't want to live in fear, totally cool, but none of us know what's going to happen tomorrow.

Internet lack of tone of voice and such. I think Cole is just pointing out the difference between those that understand what's going on, take precautions and just want to have a positive attitude and the yahoos that think they won't get sick just because and run around at beer drinking parties without masks on and slapping each others bellies.

No one needs to prove anything to anyone. I really don't get that attitude, but ok. I'll be there first to admit that I'm pretty touchy about this since I've lost a cousin and my mother, though alive, isn't the same anymore.
Sorry to hear that, my condolences.

On the list of things that are likely to kill you on any given day, C-19 is not at the top. But the things that are on the top of that list are not causing paranoia or suicides or even a passing thought for the average Joe. Add to that, that the majority of people who test positive either have no symptoms, or they do survive and are back to normal in a matter of days. I don't understand the panic.
