I have a family in our church whose brother attempted suicide. The isolation and the constant doom and the hopelessness got to him.
I'm all for saving Grandma but we got to make sure to not forget others that are at risk but just in a different way.

Oh, that's horrible! Attempted, so it sounds like he's still with us. I hope he's getting the support he needs.

No doubt there is a heavy price to this lockdown, and we do need to remember everyone best we can.

I dont post here often, unless the ship needs to be placed back on course, but I appreciates everything that is written here. Unfortunately we are seeing that here in our aged population. Since this began Nursing homes are on complete lockdown, as is the case in many places. Family cannot see loved ones as many of these places are lockdown units due to Dementia based "Sundowning". Many of these folks feel abandoned and don't know why.

We had one situation where a woman suffocated herself with her bedsheets because she felt her family left her there tto die. Very sad. A Motorcycle group I belong to purchased tablets for a wing of the VA nursing home and that for there families, so at least they can facetime, zoom etc. Not the same as physical touch, but at least it is something.

As many of you know my mom suffered from Dementia related Alzheimer's for over 17 years and we lost her in 2016. This may sound bad, but I am so glad she left us when she did, so she and our family did not have this situation to deal with. I would have probably been placed in jail as no one... I mean NO ONE would have kept me from seeing her.

Believe it or not I pray for each member and their families everyday, that we will be better and stronger on the other side of this. Take care all

So last year we upgraded our central air unit. The old one wasn't sized properly and was as old as the house. The old one ran all day! And could only keep house to about 80 and 76 at night. It was HORRIBLE! We upgraded to a larger unit and higher efficiency. Our electric bill plummeted and our house is significantly cooler!
Yeah you don't realize how much its helping until its not working....

Our numbers for today haven't been released yet but as of yesterday...
The total number of confirmed cases to 82,071, probable cases to 346, confirmed deaths to 1,452, and 54 probable deaths.

There’s a lot to this. I was on a zoom call with my kid’s school yesterday, as they were talking about how they are going to open up in the fall, precautions, in person/remote learning combo etc. The school has a medical advisory board consisting of docs, public health experts and the like. My biggest take home was a comment from one of the pediatric support experts who said that they have seen spikes in suicide attempts among tweens and teens because everything is so oppressive. My youngest in middle school has seen a friend in person just once in the last 5 months. We have no idea how it’s really hitting them.

I have my bad days, like today, but at least I have some coping skills. There are plenty of people out there who have a lot less support than we do. So yes, don’t kill grandma, but pick up the phone and reach out to someone you’ve been thinking about lately. You might be the only person who does. What could be as important than that?

More than 1,500 additional COVID-19 cases were reported in South Carolina on Tuesday.

The state has had 83,720 lab-confirmed cases, with 389 probable cases.

Additionally, South Carolina has reported 1,565 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths after 59 more deaths were announced on Tuesday.

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC Monday statewide was 8,689 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 18.1%.

There is no face mask mandate for the state of South Carolina, but multiple counties, towns and municipalities have passed ordinances requiring them.

However, the counties where these cities are located declined to pass any county-wide orders.

The lack of a county wide ordinance where these cities are located has caused varying levels of confusion..

I have been trying to reach out to check on friends that have kinda "slipped away" since I went out on disability. My son says I'm that sweet old man that all his friends love.

I'm 58, so I'm not sure if that's a compliment! But since I was old enough to be his grampa when he was born, maybe he's right.

So my friends range in age from 15 to 85. You'd be amazed how just a quick chat can turn into an hour on Messenger!

There are people out there that might be thrilled to hear from you. You might be the ONE person that they need to hear from! Not all of us are coping as well as we pretend! Put some feet to the prayers of others if you can friends.

As most of you know I referee high school football and basketball, and am supposed to pick up some NCAA div III and Big Sky games this year. Obviously with corona virus everything is up in the air. As officials we have to use whistles which obivously can be a problem. Don't worry the #1 brand trusted whistle manufacturer released a mask designed to be used with a whistle.

I don't even know what to say, as if referees aren't heckled and yelled at enough they want us to wear these!
