Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Stirling Spice does the same thing for me Chad. So far, Stirling Spice is the closest thing to what he used from what I can remember.

Enjoy dinner with the family!

Have a nice dinner Chad and yes, you NEED the Cologne. It's AMAZING !!!

It is on my Christmas wish list. Perhaps my wife will get it for me.

Good stuff Chad! Glad you got to try out the Karve, seems like you were getting good shaves from it in your videos. Rumor has it he's looking at doing the Karve in a SS version...I haven't seen anything concrete on this, however.

That would be awesome. Especially if the price can still be reasonable.

Hope it’s proving a good evening with Grandma!

Was a very nice day.

Thank you. Old Spice is another that is great. But grandpa used Stetson the most.

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Super Homex (1) Bad blade series
Soap/cream: Asylum Shaveworks Vetiver Bourbon
Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Asylum Shaveworks Vetiver Bourbon

Well today I grabbed a soap that was a gift from my wife last Christmas, and I really should use more often. This soap is a fantastic scent, and the aftershave is also nice and strong so you get the wonderful scent all day. The vetiver is more on the green side so coupled with the bourbon scent it is just well rounded. The shave today went pretty well considering I was using a 'bad blade' it was serviceable I guess we will see how it goes tomorrow.

Homefront:

Well it is Thanksgiving week so busy obviously. I am working today and tomorrow then taking the rest of the week off. Yesterday before heading over to my grandma's I got all the Christmas lights up outside. I'll post a pic after we turn them on. Today I have a referee union meeting, tomorrow a game, and then wednesday prep for the big day. On Friday weather permitting we are going up the canyon to stay at a place called the Homestead for the weekend. But there is a storm looming that might close the canyon we are hoping that isn't the case.

Have a good day cadre.

What? A platinum coating and still bad? What ever happened to paying for quality?

Soap/cream: Mike's Wild Honeysuckle
Brush: Maggard's Synthetic
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Florida Water

Okay another shave today. I grabbed some Mike's Wild Honeysuckle. This is a very lightly scented soap, at about 1.5/5 I wish it was stronger because I LOVE THIS SCENT. I wrapped it all up with some Florida Water which was actually a nice way to close out the shave.

Pre-season is over and and games matter in the state of Utah now for basketball starting tonight. Looking forward to my game, and then off til next week monday!

Hope the cadre has a great day!

Stronger honeysuckle scent? I guess this is an instance of either choosing to be true to the reality or blowing it out of proportion. The flowers do smell nice!

My parents had wild honeysuckle that would grow in the back yard. Smelled great, but not a super stronk scent.

Thanks guys for reading. And I get it is supposed to be a weaker scent based off smelling the real deal. But I wish it was a tad stronger.

Mike's Honeysuckle was one scent of his that I just did not care for. I totally dig the smell of honeysuckle in bloom, and we have TONS of it down here! But the soap scent smelled quite artificial to me. Maybe it was not a good batch?

I don't get an artificial vibe, but I also have only really smelled honeysuckle in bouquet form. Not in bloom on the plant.

Well it has been too long since I have used this awesome scent so GTB was called out of the bullpen. And I am just basking in the scent! Great stuff indeed! Don and KJ are just crazy LOL. I had a great lather and a decent shave. You can read about the blade in my bad blade series or catch the video which should be up soon.

Have a relaxing day lined up kind of. There's a new donut shop that opened that is a chain called Jack's Donuts so I am going to go grab a half dozen and spoil my family for dessert. Then while Megan starts on some items for dinner tomorrow I have to run to Costco to grab a box of diapers. Hopefully it isn't too crazy there today LOL being right before the Thanksgiving.

Hope you all have a wonderful day today!

I realize I'm in the minority. For me, it's the gunpowder. I can't stand that note in a shaving product. If you took the gunpowder out, I think I might like it.
I will say that my daughter is my sounding board when it comes to scents. I usually have her smell all my new stuff, and she helps me decide on stuff I'm iffy about. She said it smelled really good. I just can't do it.

My wife is a cardiology PA, so her days are spent hanging with unhealthy old people, many of whom smoke. When she first sniffed GTB, she said it smelled like her patients

She very much disliked it at first, but tolerates it now. The more I wear it, the more I like it.

“Hey Honey, running out to get some Diapers”. Three hours later.

Aren’t you supposed to save that excuse for when you have the in-laws around and have to get out of the house for peace of mind? You know then hit up the local watering hole?

Doh, now I'll have to try not to think about old chain smoker when I use it.

\n\nSmart using your daughter. And I get not liking the gun powder. There are other soaps that use it and I don\'t like also. Another scent that is usually a no go for me is smoke like a campfire or gas/oil.\n\n

\n\nBrother I live in Utah! Can\'t even buy alcohol on holidays. I have to go to state ran liquor store today that closes early because of the holiday. There will be a police officer there checking IDs and not letting more than 20 people in at a time. Just Google Utah liquor laws you will be shocked how backwards it is here.
