Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Astra SS (1)
Soap/cream: Proraso Blue Cream
Brush: Wolf Whiskers
Aftershave1: Thayer's Cucumber
Aftershave2: Proraso Blue

Well today was a nice shave, and also finished off the Proraso Blue cream. Most likely will not replace this one, but it was enjoyable to use, and happy to move onto another cream, between shave themes I want to get rid of these creams and at least I get good shaves from them.

Homefront

Well today just got away from me at the office. Which means I am now behind here. Trying to get caught up, but we have Connor's soccer game this evening. So will most likely get caught up on the journals tomorrow some time. Hope you all had a great day.

Razor: Parker Variat
Blade: Astra SS (2)
Soap/cream: LEA Shave Cream
Brush: Stirling Finest Fan
Aftershave1: Thayer's Cucumber
Aftershave2: Lime Sec

Well today was a great shave. And the LEA cream is definitely a step above the Proraso in slickness that is for sure. I got this tube I believe from someone here, but honestly I can't remember. I think this will be the next cream to die and it probably has about 20 shaves remaining. I want to use up all my creams I have remaining as I keep having issues with the caps. So far this cap has stood up, but still should be a good victim to use up. I do have the shave stick from LEA as well, and that will be what I keep in the den going forward.

Connor started summer soccer yesterday so that all went well. With my boss in town it has been more meetings than normal at work but that is to be expected. This evening we are going out to dinner as a team to Top Golf so should be a fun evening. Have a good day Cadre.

Nice! Enjoy the Top Golf Chad. They recently built one in the 'burbs of Detroit and we have a work event planned there in a couple of weeks. I'm interested to see how it is.

I'm not at all a golfer, but I've heard that Top Golf is pretty cool.

It basically combines darts and bowling. Super fun!

I've been a few times. The pricing really isn't that bad either, but I think they count on you getting beverages and food. Don't forget to bring your own clubs! When you leave you will ask yourself, "Why didn't I think of this business model?"

Well here I am. First every shave since my last entry has been with the Lea Cream however today was O day.

Razor: Schick Injector
Blade: Schick (?)
Soap/cream: Vintage Old Spice
Brush: TSC Member Brush
Aftershave1: Thayer's Cucumber
Aftershave2: Old Spice Vintage

Well today was an awesome shave wit the Injector and the Old Spice. I get good results from the soap of old. Not as much moisturizing etc as newer soaps but respectable in it's own right.

Well we had a great weekend in Idaho Falls. Picked up some whiskeys, walked around the falls, saw their zoo, and spent time with my grandma which was the main objective of the the trip. For the first time we did an AirBnB, which was a new experience. While everything went well, and we had the top level of a house all to ourselves it was weird knowing there was someone down in the basement. All went well though but I naturally didn't sleep real well but all is good. Even though it worked out to be cheaper I think I might lean towards a hotel room still. I am way behind and trying hard to play catch up. Hope you all are doing well.

Yea I’m not sold on Air BnB yet. I mean some good deals to be had...but the thought of being in someone’s actual home...who you don’t know...pretty sure that’s horror movie material...

We've done it or the equivalent a few times. Worked out well and they have been homes where the main intent is renting it out. Super good decision when you're there a few days and need a few bedrooms.

Yea it was nice because we had a total of 7 people if you include the kids. 3 bedrooms and a pull out couch. Being a dad the anxiety of knowing my son was on the pull out couch, while my daughter was in bed with us. Just had my anxiety up with a "stranger" down in the basement. Also didn't help that this story Ayoola Ajayi, accused of killing MacKenzie Lueck, was once investigated for rape. And his ex-wife feared him. was happening back home. So long story short I ended up sleeping on the pull out couch with my son just felt better about that. Now granted the owner of the B&B was super nice and a very accommodating. And if presented again I would stay there.

It really did work out well for everyone that was going. And the price way better than a hotel. Where we stayed the guy lives down stairs and he rents the whole upstairs which has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms, and had a nice backyard patio which was great.

Because motels are off limits for horror... 🤪

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Big Ben (1)
Soap/cream: Pre De Provence Lemon SPICED with Stirling Frost Drops
Brush: Stirling Green Synthetic
Aftershave1: Thayer's Cucumber
Aftershave2: Osage Rub
Cologne: Stirling Triumph EdT

Well today was a nice shave with a few new things. 3 items from Stirling. I will discuss each of them. First the shave was very good. There is a video out there where I discuss it more. Anyways after a few more uses I will add a more thorough review to my Stirling Review thread. But here is first impressions from the new stuff from @Joe Hackett

Frost Drops Frost Drops - Menthol Additive

So I do like a nice chill but I have noticed that most of the stuff out there is just too cold. People add way to much menthol too it and I don't like the feeling when I can't feel my face. So when I saw this released at the great price of under $5 I knew I would get some. I added 5 drops to the top of my soap puck (probably should have done 3) and it was perfect and did not effect the lather quality at all. I like that I can control the level of menthol.

Brush Synthetic 2-Band Brush - 24mm x 56mm (Green)

I love this handle shape and I have it with a boar, but wanted it with a synthetic, and will probably get one with a badger eventually. Stirling brushes are the best bargain out there in my opinion especially for a good badger. Worth the buy.

EdT Triumph - 5ml Eau de Toilette Sample

The Triumph is on sale in a sample and the scent notes seemed right so I went for it:
A manly scent of sea notes, citrus, bay, and a touch of complimentary floral notes.
Inspired by Paco Rabanne's Invictus

I really liked the scent. And if this gets a soap release I will probably pick it up. I would say winner.
